MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
The point of these threads is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this by listening to and ideally discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture "out of their comfort zone" by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.

Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 – Strangers from the Universe (1994)
First time listening to this, even though I’ve seen it posted so many times on /mu/. I kind of half expected it to be a carefully crafted experimental indie-rock masterpiece a la Divorce Lawyers I Shaved My Head or In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, but alas, it was not. The best parts of this album felt a little bit like Sonic Youth’s more far out records, and the worst parts felt mostly like a bunch of dudes found a stack of guitars and amplifiers and decided to muck about for fifteen minutes, recording an hour long session and trimming it down to a few minutes with no regard for coherence.
Too much was just rock music with distortion and some “noises” added on top, which I never like. Maybe I have myself to blame for expecting a thoughtfully orchestrated piece of musical haute couture, an avant-garde paragon of 90s rock music. If I had gone in with lower expectations, at least I would not be disappointed. I don’t really think it’s bad per se, and I think I understand why some people might enjoy, but I also don’t think it’s for me.
That's four listens for me today, which is better than I have done lately. I'm satisfied, I think.
>Izipho Zam
My opinions on this were kinda the opposite of trip up's and co's, I loved the chanting, but felt the free parts fell short.
>Armenian Medieval Spiritual Music
This was absolutely gorgeous, beautiful chants and choirs.
>Come to my Garden
The singing was nice, it went on slightly to long and some of the tracks were too same-y, but it was average enough.
>Music for Church Cleaners
After a minute or two I realised I'd heard this already and hated it. The relisten didn't make it past the half-hour mark, I don't know.

i cant be the only one who finds Gorillaz a little confusing right?
i get that the animated characters are just characters, but do the voice actors make the music? or is it just murdoc and 2d that make the music? can /mu/ help explain.
Stop listening to normie shit
"Gorillaz are an English virtual band created in 1998 by musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett." First sentence of the Wikipedia page. Just look it up.
>>73197676
it's just damon albarn making the music to my knowledge. he has an artist who's name escapes me, i think he helps with the lyrics and does all of the animation.
Why do people feel the need to only ever bring up that Lennon was a wifebeater? What other musicians beat their wives?

Usually just to throw the conversation off to turn attention to themselves. I've had someone do it when I was talking about the beatles once. Told them to shut the fuck up.

jimin is considered to be one of the best looking bts members (i find him better looking than jin even)
Why does Jay Z always say "nigger"? Seriously, every other rapper clearly pronounces it as "nigga", but Jay Z clearly stresses the hard R on a lot of his songs. For example, in Feelin' It, he says "If every nigger in your clique is rich, your clique is rugged" and you can clearly hear him stress the R. He does the same thing in Izzo (H.O.V.A.).

because he's a racist
>>73197607
Because the Masons hate blacks and he wants to get in good with them by betraying and selling out his own people.
I think it has to do with his accent. I knew a guy from NY (or jersey? cant remember) and he would always add a sight r sound to the end of words that ended with the letter a. So like "idea" turned into "idear".

What exactly was indie-rock's "deal" in the early-to-mid 2000s? Why was everything so hushed and delicate all of a sudden?
