Why hasn't there been a documentary or movie about his life?
He died in his u district apartment
I live in the u district.
I wonder where it was
>>73350343
Because he was a degenerate junkie who made shit music and nobody cares that he's dead.
>>73350526
>Caring about degeneracy on a board with porn ads
How is porn not the essence of degeneracy??
the more i think about it, the more i feel like lieber honig is the best song on this album
fight me
I like the last song with the pained vocals, great end to a great album.

What the fuck did you just call me?
ITT: Only the most essential, most influential death metal albums. No obscure hidden gems. Those are really cool, but I'm trying to get into the genre, and I want to hear the essentials first. I want to hear the most popular, famous, and important death metal albums.
This came out before Scream Bloody Gore. Some will argue that its a thrash album, but it's definitely a landmark death metal album and absolutely essential to understanding the genre.
This is probably the best Obituary album, and its a very iconic American death metal album.
>only give me the most popular accessible shit
I have a friend who believes the overall quality of music released in the past decade has declined (he's not militant about this belief, he just sucks at finding good music). Who are some artists primarily active in the past few years that I can show him to prove him wrong? I'm down for any individual album or track recommendations as well. Any genre will do as long as it's legitimately some of your favorite music.

lurk more. if you did you could show them yourself. dont mean to be mean but just trying to be real with you.
>>73350010
I've already made a playlist, just looking for more ideas that are outside of my own taste

Nick Oliveri and Mark Lanegan
I just want a good, consistent hard rock album. Just like we got with Like Clockwork.

>>73349522

This isn't even the best Radiohead album with the letter "B" in it.
Why doesn't this bad boy get a lot of praise in here?
>>73349452

I haven't been here much the last few months. Have we talked about this yet?
Man of oil is their best song in a while imo and the other three all have their good parts. I think they're responding to the criticism they got for HZ and Painting with, and I think it bodes well for their next album.
Oh and while I'm typing, does anyone else get kind of annoyed at how much of anco content is slow, sporadic sound collages? Maybe I'm failing to appreciate something, but when I put on one of their albums I often get bored in the drawn out material between the "real" songs.
wish i enjoyed it. major snooze fest
>>73349230
i dont like their ambient either, besides baleen sample
they need to stick to pop and focused freak folk
>>73349230
I don't think that much of what they do is all that unstructured, really. I can't say that for anything off of PW or CHz, or SJ for that matter, but I also think it's really cool when they dip into more pure sound stuff. The ending to Daily Routine is what really makes the song to me, Visiting Friends is one of my favorite tracks on Sung Tongs, and Campfire Songs is firmly top 5 AnCo to me.
He claims that Kraftwerk "exploited black music":
>"Autobahn (1974) finally abandoned any intellectual pretense and laid the foundations of disco-pop, but now their operation of "black exploitation" was not all that different from what Presley and the Beatles had done: 1. take black music, 2. remove the provocative elements, 3. enhance it with modern technology, 4. and turn it into easy-listening music for the white masses."
>kraftwerk release trans europe express Scaruffi says absolutely nothing about it's massive influence or it being one of the most important albums to black artists because of it's groundbreaking digital hip hop beats, rhythms, and sounds
By his logic, wouldn't it be "white exploitation" of Kraftwerk's music, since all sorts of black artists have advanced digital beats? Or is he completely wrong about this being a race issue?
>By his logic, wouldn't it be "white exploitation" of Kraftwerk's music, since all sorts of black artists have advanced digital beats?
No
>>73349144
Maybe he's just listened to more music than you.
