Hey /mu/, what are your opinions on metal?
some is ok, SFSGSW is good
I really like it. Hate every "metal" that came after 1990 though. Megadeth and Iron Maiden are the only exception.
it's ok, except for all the horror movie bullshit
When did you grow out of your mathrock phase?

i want to get into no wave, educate me on essential albums and the history of the movement
Some essential albums from the original movement
>Various Artists - No New York (duh)
>Contortions - Buy
>Suicide - Suicide
>DNA - DNA on DNA
>Glenn Branca - The Ascension
>Mars - 78+
Albums heavily influenced by No Wave
>Swans - Filth/Cop/Holy Money/Greed/
>Sonic Youth - s-t/Confusion is Sex/Bad Moon Rising/EVOL
first there was a band called suicide
this inspire them all
finally a group name mars or dna was loud and made music for trashcans now that everyone killed themself earlier
these garbage bins and lydia lunch who was eating in a garbage can when she hear the sounds become musically trained and try to do a song also
some were successful and became remembered as swans and glenn branca who made garbage for humans reciprocal
some were not successful and nobody knows what they were doing even now and those were referred to as james chance who married lydia even though she was a teenager and this is why she screams when she tries to make a song
eventually a little boy made of music and guitars and glenn branca sperm (he had a love for a guitar) was birthed into a trash can when his guitar mom was too pregnant for a good sound and was thrown away in there
the name of this boy was thurston moore and lee ranaldo it was actually two boys like siamese twins and they call themselves the sonic youths and the implement the no wave trashcan/human dynamic into emo music and that is how we arrived at grunge eventually
>>73383862
i thought Swans WAS no wave not influenced by?
What did they mean by this?
>>73383605
Let me explain to you how this works. The businesses give money to team america, and then they sit back.. And they're all business-y...
It means they were trying to make a statement about "freedom from censorship, man" and that kind of shit. A distraction. They oinked crap like "Fight the power! Smash the white corporate power structure! Hey, check out my $300 Nikes and my pre-stressed Che shirt!"
>>73383605
so are there uncensored pics or no
who has the biggest shlong
Hello /mu/, today I am going to become a shill for Travis Scott.
If you don't know who Travis Scott is, he's a rapper and producer. He has revolutionized trap music throughout the past few years.
Here's a song you may have heard before:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dst9gZkq1a8
or this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnZ8h3MRuYg
In 2015, Travis released his album Rodeo. In 2016, he released Birds In The Trap.
Going into these albums, I didn't realize how good they would be, especially Rodeo. The production on these things is top notch like holy fuck, especially on Rodeo.
Critics such as Anthony Fantano have yet to give Travis the legendary 10's and 9's, so naturally 4chan gives him no attention and automatically dismisses it as shit.
Here is a song from Rodeo, "90210". Notice the polished production, great songwriting, and revolutionary use of autotune:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuNBLjJzRoo
Here are two more songs off of Rodeo, "Nightcrawler" and "Oh My Dis Side". Both of these songs are modern masterpieces.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNr6X0_vmWM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZALrZUSshA
Travis Scott is heavily underappreciated on /mu/. Let's collectively push this album to overcome everyone's Fantano cock sucking philosophy that they all deny having. We can have our own taste /mu/. Let's be our own people.
>>73383538
Didn't Fantano give Rodeo an 8?
Travis Scott is alright, but I feel like he's become somewhat stagnated in terms of evolution. Birds was good, and so are all the recent singles and verses he releases, but they're all pretty bland. His best song is Maria, I'm Drunk, both Young Thug and Beiber give their best features and Travis is great as well.
>>73383538
he is normie garbage and brings really nothing new to the table
>>73383611
Yes, but the he gave Birds a 3, and if he doesn't give an album a 9 or a 10, people won't go out of their way to listen to it.
>>73383642
listen to Nightcrawler doggy.
some of his songs are normie-tier but that doesn't mean they're bad.
He may be super popular but the normies who play Antidote and Goosebumps don't actually listen to his albums for the most part, they just get fucked up to select songs.
His albums may be a bit normie-tier but that doesn't make them bad.
Can anyone recommend me any similar post-punk music? New the genre, but I love Joy Division
Killing Joke and Bauhaus have similar sounds but are a bit less serious. Start with their debut albums.
Try The Chameleons.
>>73383559
this album is fucking great
We are halfway through the year....
I liked that song, despacito, the rest is pretty much shit so far.
>>73383479
wow... I'm not even dissing but who are you?
>>73383202
Probably lost the master tapes or something
>>73383202
Because Brian Wilson couldn't mix fucking cake batter if he tried
>>73383212
Why do the really good songs have lost master tapes?
Good Vibrations has no stereo because the vocal ones are missing
>They probably dont exist anymore too
>I will never hear Good Vibrations in true 100% stereo
I like to make Topsters of albums linked by a shared trait that the artists who created them have. Most of the ones I've made aren't very cheery, and I'm not very imaginative with themes so can someone suggest some for me? Ones I've done so far are: artists who were murdered, artists who died at 27, artists who committed suicide and artists that are or were Conservatives or rightwing.
>>73383170
nice

Albums by musicians accused of rape
Albums by people who died from drug overdose
Albums by artists who never had children
