Hey guys. I'm completely new to recording and I'm trying to record some of my songs. My setup is a Logitech USB microphone (Pic related), My casio privia electric piano and Reaper. What would be the best position to put the microphone as I want to record the piano and vocals at the same time, or if you have a better way to record with this setup I'd love to hear it.

I basically do the same thing with reaper and portable recorders and iphones
depending on what you're going for you can get the least bad quality if you keep the mic far enough away so that there is some subtlety to the sounds that are supposed to be over the louder stuff
Thanks, what distance would you suggest for a moderately calm song with no real dynamics?
Find a daw that you are comfortable with.
I use a focusrite, ableton and condensor mic.
Dynamic mics tend to be shit at recording.
Just a few feet from and facing the mic should be adequate. Experiment with recording at distances if that is what you are asking.
Overrated band with noticeably bad production that people brush off for some reason.

Oh shit, awesome thank you.
I think songs like Straight on Total Destruction have that busy bass feel that seems kinda similar to some Nomeansno

Babby's first contrarian opinion
Superunknown's Beatles harmonies and forays into psychedelia > Badmotorfinger's homogeneous sludge sound

You spelled "baby" wrong.
Formed in 2015, Dirt Devil is a rock band from Western Massachusetts. Dirt Devil draws on a range of musical influences from dream pop to hard rock. The group often incorporates visual elements into live performances and music videos using costumes and sets.
“Dream poppers Dirt Devil are a new band to keep an eye on. While it is certainly popular (and easy) to stomp distortion pedals, creating a wall of sound without looking back, Dirt Devil takes it a step further: their genius lies in their songcraft. Marked by calculated and intentional arrangements, Dirt Devil has a knack for fiercely catchy melodies.”
Valley Advocate
“Dreamy punk with a strong overdriven punch, sleepy lullaby compositions with a surf pop haunt. It’s heavy like your eyes when it’s time to drift into a dream, but overdriven enough to match the volume of the thoughts that keep you awake.”

What is /mu/'s opinion on this album.
I've been listening to it a lot lately, still think it's their best album they've released so far.
It's top-tier when you're into emo, but you eventually grow out of it (and all emo in general).

My music taste fluctuates big time.
Used to be into hip-hop, to the point where I only listened to it. I grew out of that eventually, can't even listen to any artists I used to love.
I'll grow out of this emo stage, but this album + American Football's 1999 album got me hooked on the genre.
