And their refinement of the decline
but then I wake up at Tippy's demise and shit my pants because it's so good and makes me want to kill myself
>When the ending sequence of Head Over Heels kicks in
Sure they've got a lot of god tier songs, but do they have a truly great album under their belt?
black celebration, violator, some great reward, and music for masses are solid albums
>>73300120
violator is probably my favorite of theirs, every song is a 10/10
Violator, SOFAD, and ultra are all masterpieces
does /mu/ like shit and piss all over their cock?
Yes, I listen to The Cure all the time
Just
post albums you wish you could hear for the first time again
I used to really like this album and now I find it pretty boring, I listened to it yesterday on shuffle and didn't even notice until I realized I hadn't heard the preacher monologue yet (one of the only parts I actually like anymore)
ooh, time to judge /mu/core
I remember the first time seeing Animal Collective in my Last.FM recommendations back in 2015 and going "Well, this has a trippy cover, why not?". I still love the album, it's one of my favorites of all time. But I'd KILL to find another record that confused my ears as much as this did on my first listen. And it's not even that weird, it's just Beach Boys with synths.

same, I even think some parts have a very immature sound. Probably because I've been listening mostly ambient lately so everything with too much going on sounds bad, I don't like this phase I'm going through
I absolutely hated it on first listen but after 2 or 3 it became my favorite album of all time. Then I listened to it way too much and got bored of it. I don't think i'll ever love an album as much I loved The Pod. feels bad man.
What's your favorite version of SMiLE, /mu/? Or do you just listen to the unmastered studio recordings all the way through?
I like the version made by a /mu/tant, I think you can still find it on the archive. Image related.
General SMiLE and Beach Boys thread.
smiley smile
I have to listen to SMiLE in its original Sessions release. I've grown so fond of the eclecticism, even if people have found better ways to transition the record. Brian Wilson's final rendition was great still.

My favorite is the snl version, but i do still really love the Smile Sessions and Smiley Smile. I see them each as their own unique album though with snl being at bootleg. I think the snl version comes the closest to what it would have sounded like if release in 67 though. Someone posted a version with thirteen tracks that ends with Your Welcome and has Cabinessence as track six that I've been meaning to check out. In all honesty, the Smile Sessions is probably my album of the decade so far. That or Age of Adz.
NOWWWOWWW I THINK IT'S ALL RIGHT

FOREVER I'LL REEEEEEEEE
FOREVER I'LL REEEEEEEEE
FOREVER I'LL REEEEEEEEE
FOREVER I'LL REEEEEEEEE
FOREVER I'LL REEEEEEEEE
What does /mu/ think of Plunderphonics? (Pogo, Jeesh, Dianumo).
Trumpular is possibly the most important song of the millineum seriously. Trump should pardon Pogo. I'm seriously pretty surprised he hasn't. I bet it wouldn't take much to get him to do it. It's not like Pogo killed anyone. Right?

I wish he didn't remove his livestreams, they're great learning material.
Pogos to page 1
Anyone watching the bonnaroo live stream?
The chili peppers sound like shit. What went wrong?

I got a ticket as a present a few months ago, and it was depressingly bad. They really needed to throw in the towel 10 years ago.

I can't believe they are the headline Saturday night for this. It's bad. Real bad. I love them too

oxford comma has one of the great chorusus of indie
should we have a chorus thread?
pic semi related, where every other part of the song is better than the chorus
Bizarre Love Triangle has my favorite New Order chorus and one of my favorite in general.

Last year my two favorite choruses were from Vincent by CSH and Versace Summer by JANK.

I just love how well they both build up. Especially JANK's. Really fun to sing along to.

if you don't think this is one of the best choruses of all time then you can get the fuck out of my face
The way this song builds into the chorus is one of my favorite music moments of the year so far, I can't get enough of it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMSAELTTgrk
The second chorus of this song is the best moment on the whole album
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5pHhdVTYvY
This chorus is the most fucking heavenly thing I've heard in ages
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaeWss85_vg
I feel like there was a song I was listening to recently with a fucking killer chorus but I can't remember what it was, guess I'll come back and post it if I do remember
Holy shit this is so much better now.
