If I make a rock/rap album, like say an Industrial Rap/Noise album with singing it, will I be lumped in with Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Kid Rock, and all of Nu Metal?
>>73315941
there will at least be comparisons
see: death grips
>>73315941
Honestly it's pretty much all image based. If you don't market yourself by wearing a backwards cap and looking straight out of 2002 you'll probably be taken seriously. And use an artsy album cover.
You'll be compared to the likes of Death Grips, Clipping, Dalek, and Corpus
Just make sure you do at least one thing vastly different or you'll get tossed out as a worse version of another band
I want his most soul crushing album / tape.
If he doesn't have any, give me some underground south sadcore.

Mouth for war
Why is classic rock so shit? Its literally garbage unless you're under the age of 12.
>I have daddy issues
is ok bby
Yeah because the Velvet Underground and the 13th Floor Elevators like, totally suck. Right.
>>73315957
Those two are hardly "classic rock".
Never seen it on any list of what they call "greatest bands"
Still better than The Rolling Stoned

The market value on metalcore/hardcore definitely capped off in 2013. After that it became completely over-saturated and lost any of it's charm.
It is now 2017, and I see bands like this (link below) pop up on my Facebook feed all the time. Tons of shitty local hardcore/metal bands popping up all over the place.
Who is autistic enough to keep making this shit?

>uses the word "market value" when discussing music
>calls anyone else autistic

Yea everyone knows this
Same thing happened to nu-metal, bands kept popping up well into the late 00s.
It'll fizzle out soon don't stress.
>>73315678
>denies that music has market value
>is fucking retarded
If something has cultural value, it has market value.
People were showing up to Death Grips shows because it was something new and fresh that the market did not already have.

Thoughts?
Best album of the last 25 years?
I can't really think of anything else...
Have you heard 5 albums?
Is it true if I send them pseudo-intellectual ramblings I can get hired, or do I need to based in New York?
i need 2 know if i can get paid for my shitposts.
just make sure to avoid writing literally ANYTHING about how the music sounds and youre as good as hyred
Yeah probably.
I'm tempted to do this.
what does mu think of gravity boys/drain gang?
Who
I love them. I hope they plan on releasing some more older/unreleased songs like they did with Forever United / ICE-POP. Can't wait for the Drain Comp and that new Thaiboy EP. I wish they would give dates instead of saying "soon".
fucking love them make sure to check out the subreddit /r/sadboys
Lets talk about Deftones
>What is Their best album?

>What is Their best album?
White Pony
>Why?
Best guitar riffs, best production, and it has three of my favorite songs from them (Digital Bath, Street Carp, and Korea). I love how varied this album is. Great mix of their metal side with their softer electronic stuff. Creates a strong atmosphere.
>What is their worst album? and why?
i think Gore, but i feel like it was an album that was killed by the production. it sounds way too dry to me. i'm sure the songs are better live. maybe it'll grow on me.
Happy Hour Albums. Give me some chill vibes for drinkin
