How do you discover music on Discogs?
parameters
Check out the back catalogs of labels I enjoy.
Sometimes I find a seller with a bunch of Krautrock or obscure 70s Progressive Rock and check some of it out. Prices are ridiculous but most of that stuff has at least transferred over into digital.

One of my absolute favorites. Listen to arthur verocai. His debut album is the shit. Very similar. Also, Tarika Blue, Roy Ayers, Lonnie Liston Smith, and early Mtume.

I get that people like it a ton(I don't personally), but I've seen it called the most influential album of the 90s and ever before. I can't really think of anything it did that hadn't already been done before.

Seinfeld Effect

I'm familiar with it, I was alive and listened to it when it released, it didn't sound like anything special to me.

>I can't really think of anything it did that hadn't already been done before
This is not always the measure of influence
OK Computer's influence is due more to its popularity and widespread acclaim than any sort of innovation
It basically popularized a lot of studio techniques that would dominate the following decade, as well as the sort of Internet-age angst that defined 2000s indie rock
It's not that it was extremely ahead-of-its-time, but it essentially spawned a bunch of copycats and laid out the blueprint for the rock music of the coming decade
Alvvays > Antisocialites
This album gets worse every time I listen to it
obviously. in undertow and dreams tonite are goat though

their third album will be better than both of these.
When did the post-punk divide begin?
Probably with Wire and Gang of Four.
>>74960433
Never since there's no such thing.
>>74960453
Did they consider themselves post-punk at the time or is it just a label we used retroactively?
Do you guys have any vinyl singles? Post about them ITT.
I have about 800 of them.
I have a ton of Beatles singles from when they first came out. Songs like P.S. I Love You and I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Got them from my grandma.

That's neat, my mom used to have the complete series of Beatles trading cards from 1964.
>Be Gillian Gilbert
>Be going out with Joy Division's drummer when Ian Curtis dies
>"Hey, why not join the new band on keyboards? We'll split everything equally"
>"But I can't play keyboards"
>"That's alright, neither can we"
>"OK lol"
>Spend the next 30 years standing like a statue on stage, playing keyboards with one finger, contributing virtually nothing to the songs, and getting a quarter of the money
Nick Mason
Mike Love
Ringo Starr
Freddie Mercury
The guy in Wham who wasn't George Michael
>Be Dick James, music publisher
>Brian Epstein asks you to publish the songs of a new band called the Beatles
>Get 50% of the Beatles publishing royalties for doing basically nothing
>Sell Northern Songs in 1969 because the Beatles are getting too weird
>Sign up a new artist called Elton John
What's everyone's favorite Nice Is Neat album?
Mine' The Fragile.

Just listen to what you like man. It keeps the board interesting if you have your own opinion otherwise it just turns into a circle jerk.

You sound like you have an inferiority complex given you call yourself a pleb 3 times in 4 sentences.
Nothing your listen to is pleb, relax.
