What are some god-tier synth riffs?
I'm thinking of Lucky Man by ELP and I like the synth line in Home Invasion / Regret#9 by Steven Wilson.
I'll admit it may not be god-tier, but I think it's great. Post any genre.

Not the exact same, almost like a blend of them and Carissa's Wierd's Songs About Leaving. Great music regardless and top notch slowcore, no idea why it's so unheard of.
more like the title track plz

Always happy to find more slowcore, thank you for sharing this!
What does /mu/ think of Prefab Sprout, and their singer/songwriter Paddy McAloon?? They're my favorite band.
>>73388435
They're pretty darn great. Sophisti-Pop in general is a really good genre when you get into it, and Prefab Sprout were top.
Steve McQueen is great, have not heard anything else. I heard Sam Hyde cried to Paddy McAloon's solo album, is that shit good?
I have this picture I saved, and I think it's the only chance I'm ever going to get to post it.
>>73388557
Yeah, they're one of those bands that consistently put out good albums, and his solo album is no different.
I want to just chill for 30 days and 30 nights give me some good lofi stuff that i can i listen to while the world passes me by

What does /mu/ think about Paul McCartney's reaction to being asked about John Lennon's death?

He is coked out
>>73388125
I also should've added my own thoughts in. Even though John was a cunt, I imagine Paul was still very distraught by the news of John's death. His rude reaction was understandable. I don't think he would've liked to have been asked about John's death after it just happened.
>"How do you feel, Paul"
>"Fucking awful, how do you think? Fuck off, I'm not going to cry for some random reporter"

Can we have a music advice thread?
I've got a relatively successful online covers project (over 20K subs, solid amount of views) that is growing, and have been working on original material forever that has been received decently well.
Myself and the person I'm working with work full-time, so jumping into touring and spending all week on music doesn't seem like a smart idea at this point in time. We just submitted demos to a bunch of labels, but we're not sure if that method will lead to getting responses/feedback (something we're eager to get so that we have an idea of how to proceed).
Is it a smart idea to look for a manager or reach out to labels? Etc. Some advice would be helpful. We're aware that most labels don't take unsolicited demos, but making 'music connections' and 'talking to the right people' just seems like that vague sort of advice that isn't really possible to tangibly pull off.
Feel free to ask other questions as well, don't want this limited to myself.

What do you want a label to do for you?

Thanks for sharing the link! Will give it a watch in a bit.
Interested in a label for the management/connections that (ideally) come out of the better/larger labels. It's a bit sacrilege, but after the years of do-it-yourself that me and my partner have been dealing with for virtually everything (marketing, website, mixing, direction, etc.), having someone direct and fund that would be nice, and would probably be the step necessary to commit to music full-time.
I know that in some ways we are in a golden age where musicians can do everything by themselves, but labels have been able to make a jump to this generation too, and most successful acts still seem to be siphoned through them. Committing a couple of years to a label before stepping out to do our own thing would be cool. Speaking in incredibly idealistic terms, of course.
