https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa12ewbKGbY What did he mean by this? I literally can't tell what he was going for. Is he really trying to spoof current rap culture by using the Jumpman beat on the stupidest song of the year or does he genuinely think this is good?
He lives in a bubble. He probably unintentionally ripped off the hook and didn't realize it until afterwards. Jaden Smith was born a millionaire, he's the type of person who thinks he can do whatever he wants and we have to worship it just because he's Jaden Smith.
>the nas' flow is god tier but you have no idea what he's talking about because you can't relate

Ahhh the perks of being a POC.

I'm black I just didn't grow up in the hood
You don't have to relate to like the lyrics though. Just sit back and enjoy listening to his story
>New Foo Fighters
>New QOTSA

Holy fuck, you're a faggot
SOAD is not buttrock (except for some songs off of Hypnotize)

arctic monkeys are worse than buttrock. i'll take post-grunge over their shit any day
You know what trap and house music have in common?
It's music for people who don't actually care about music. It's background noise for doing something else, usually drugs. It's the lowest common denominator of music, designed to be accessible to any inebriated, underage, ignorant person who has never listened to anything before in their lives.
The entirety of house and the entirety of trap is just slight variations from an established pattern that if you deviate from, it changes the genre entirely. For house, it's the four to the floor kick drum, but usually the clap is present to. Trap is the rudimentary kick snare with the 16th note hi hats. It's fucking boring, every time I hear those two elements present in any track I come across on soundcloud and youtube I instantly skip.
you don't listen to much music do you
>>73439203
Some house music is good eventhough I find most of them too repetitive
trap is utter garbage though and if you seriously like it you should off yourself
Is anyone able to identify this song? Sounds like a 2009-2011 emo band that probably had 1 demo on bandcamp and disappeared.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzyhi9fO11E
pic sort of related
Why does this bring some odd sort of nostalgia for me? I never really was into Emo or Call of Duty, so this making me nostalgic is... weird.
Any emo fans around?
Jon Glas was better in Slow Warm Death
What does /mu/ think of Hall and Oates?
Why were 40 year old dudes still cranking out huge hits?
Oates was the talent

>When the band was in Cleveland on tour, Mingus was so aggressive in his public criticisms of McLean that, at the end of the set, Jackie announced that he was giving two weeks’ notice. According to Derek Ansell, Mingus then punched McLean in the mouth, knocking out two of his teeth. McLean pulled out a knife and would have severely injured Mingus had someone not accidentally bumped his arm. The knife struck Mingus in the stomach, but the cut was not deep. Mingus fired McLean on the spot, leaving him penniless in Cleveland. He had to pawn his saxophone to get back home.
Jesus Christ....,.

Jazz is hardcore.
I want to pursue music as a career. Would a music teacher be a good job? I don't mind working with teens and up. But I'd also like to get in the music industry, as a producer or something. Is it worth following this career? I'm still gonna do it, but I'd like some info from the people who've already gone down this path.
why don't you join a record label and try to become an exec?
>>73439022
Sounds cool. Maybe I'll make the label I work at the first one to not fuck over their artists
Let's have a thread for all and any musicians. What do you play? What are you learning? Are you in a professional or semi-professional ensemble?
I play cello and dabble in guitar. I'm currently learning Allegro from the Concerto in D major op 3 no 9 by Vivaldi
https://youtu.be/eJkH1OEH26g
I am also part of a local symphony orchestra of a small city.
>>73438993
How is highschool?
I also play cello, and starting to learn guitar.
I've been learning the second Bach suite recently, but have also been enjoying dabbling in some of Adolphus Hailstork's pieces as to play something more recently composed.

This Year I picked up viola and I am really liking it so far, currently I am in my viola teacher's orchestra, it's a small string orchestra but it's really fun and the people there are really coom. I also play guitar and Bass Guitar since 2011
i don't like rap for a few reasons
1. generally don't give a shit about lyrics (unless they are exceptionally good/bad), and since lyrics are a huge draw for rap - it's lost on me. also not going to pretend that the lyrics are relevant to me at all, because they aren't.
2. ignoring the lyrics, not left with much except for uninteresting hip hop beats that are either structured in a very song-y format, or are literally just beats on loop. there are exceptions of course, i love madlib, especially yesterdays new quintet and his more jazzy stuff
so is there supposed to be a discussion here or...?
>>73438977
Rap a shit.
>>73438977
Not an argument
Holy shit. I just listened to Heroes by David Bowie in that roll for an album thread, and it was good. The songs that really stood out to me though were Moss Garden and Sense of Doubt. Anymore like these two? Any recommendations would be appreciated.
>>73438911
Listen to Low as well
Then just listen to the first Eno albums until he went full-on Ambient all the time
>>73438934

Also listen to the Bowie track "Crystal Japan," it's a B-side from the Scary Monsters era.

>According to the Beatles' official biographer, Hunter Davies, writing in 1968, some contemporary reviewers speculated that the burst of laughter at the end of "Within You Without You" was inserted by Harrison's bandmates to mock the song.

He beat his wife.
What a twist when he was the only one who could cobble together a good solo album.

I can think of 5 better McCartney albums.
