Admit it, you listen to The Smiths because you're gay.

Actually I started listening to them years ago in high school because of girl that I had a massive crush on. They were her favorite band.
I listen to The Smiths because I can relate to the lyrics

One of my best friends just dropped his debut album he spent the last year or two on. It kinda goes through his emotional states through his relationship and breakup with his ex. They met at college and had a pretty intense relationship until she broke it off really suddenly and left him for a more glamorous life of fame. It really messed with his head so it's taken him a while to come to grips with the situation.
Give 'em a listen and share it if you like.

Flying Luttenbachers (No Wave)
I feel like more people should give a shit about this album. Really great post-disco french pop. A lot of the songs are from her previous album but the lyrics are re-written in english by Sparks (like, the band Sparks), so of course they are an improvement and have a hidden bite behind them. And the singing is the most charming cute voice you could imagine. Her next album was produced by John Cale, so I've got to get on that.
Love the hell out of this album, what other albums by Yes are worth checking out?
If you liked that album you'll probably enjoy most of their 60s and 70s stuff. Don't forget live albums.

If Loveless is the worst thing you've ever heard, you must not have ever listened to music before.
