fortunately, NICKELBACK carefully analyzed "zombie" and combined this song with "smells like teen spirit" to create the ultimate buttrock anthem

Shouldn't you be at work, Dad?
Neo-Psychedelic general?
I'm looking for more albums like pic related. Burger psych. More spiritualized, less animal collective
I posted this in an earlier thread, but I figured it'd be worth reusing...just ignore the Animal Collective recs.
If you're into Spiritualized, you obviously need to listen to Spacemen 3, as well as Sonic Boom's work in Spectrum. Also look into The Darkside, made up of former S3 members. If you really like early Spacemen 3, The Brian Jonestown Massacre would be worth checking out.

Is it just me or this album actually pretty unique and stands out among the other pop-punk music from the 2000's?
This is album really good. Like actually good. I'd maybe even go as high as 8.5/10. None of the songs are bad, they're all consistently fun, distinct from eachother and memorable.
Am I just a pleb?
I'm going to chime in here...
WITH A "HAVEN'T YOU PEOPLE EVER HEARD OF CLOSING THE GODDAMN DOOR"
I think you are at phase 3 with this album. Phase 1 is listening to it as a teenager, 2 is dismissing it when you are too good for it, 3 is coming back to it and attributing it all sorts of qualities it doesn't really possess that well, and 4 is finally realizing it's just okay.
Song titles are obnoxious, lyrics are memorable but sort of cringe, cabaret influenced stuff its tacky. It gets points for using catchy synth lines and being consistently alright but really not much better than its contemporaries.
t. fellow fever listener, after 50 listens.

Im going on a 7 hour plane flight, dubs decides the artist discography I listen to
If there is a compilation of singles available then that's included
Artists like The Beatles are only their central discography, no "Meet The Beatles"

What does the indie rock scene look like in Africa?
Not much indie going on there until recently.
I lived in West Africa for 3 years. In Mali, there's a blues scene that combines American blues with local folk and Arabic vocal music. Rock was a big influence on jazz in Ethiopia and Nigeria. There's an extreme metal scene in southern Africa (Botswana, Angola, etc.) South Africa has a long lived punk scene, and a little bit of a Ska one. Some folk groups are very influenced by rock in West Africa, notably Baaba Maal in Senegal and Amadou & Mariam in Mali.
So /mu/ I recently learned about this.
>Mister PaperRock Orchestra - Il Brutto Anatroccolo (1978)
Seventies italian prog about human nature and alienation.
There are only 100 vinyl copies and it has never been reedited or ripped into any format.
Is there a possibility that we can collectively manage to buy it and upload it?
bump for interest
I like Premiata Forneria Marconi so I hope this is similar lol
i'm interested, maybe some kickstarter-type format would work for this, where people can easily coin in 1-2 bucks.
Thoughts on Marvin Gaye?
He's GOAT and incredible, but he also signifies when soul lost its intensity and started becoming smooth and overproduced, so that taints it just a little.

one of my vocalists period, love his work
