The Jizzing World Of Bernie's Wizardry
Is the 2nd to last word maybe Death's?
It pisses me off to no end that ween were branded as lowbrow comedy rock by so many people when in reality they're some of the most skilled songwriters I've ever heard
This album's a masterpiece.
>>73487190
pointless thread
ween have a divisive fanbase - people either love ween and recognize that they're amazing songwriters, or don't understand them at all. so this thread is just going to be circlejerking ween + shitposting.

Personally I think White Pepper is a better "serious" album than this since Quebec is a little cluttered, but that's just me

inb4 some retard calls death grips nu-metal
>>73487072
No, trap is that shitty metalcore. Industrial hip-hop is the nu-metal of our time. I'm specifically talking about Death Grips. They also made a couple of trap songs.

Ladies and gentlemen we're getting into space
I'm a faggot who enjoys spoken word mixed into music. So since I'm trying to make my own music, I'm looking for good soundbytes to use in songs, preferably with some sort of paranormal or occult topic, philosophical even. Stuff from lectures or interviews. Also should be about 5 minutes tops. Tips on finding this sort of thing?
I hate to respond to your request with a request, but you've piqued my interest. What are your favorite songs/albums that incorporate spoken word? Sorry I can't be of much help in your search.

The new Burroughs record, Let Me Hang You
General to discuss the genre of progressive rock, including its sub-genres or any associated genres which may fit the criteria of "prog". Discuss prog rock bands, share works of prog, or (best of all) argue over whether band "X" is truly progressive or not.
>What is progressive rock?!
"Progressive rock (shortened as prog; sometimes called art rock, classical rock or symphonic rock) is a broad subgenre of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom and United States throughout the mid to late 1960s. Initially termed "progressive pop", the style was an outgrowth of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard pop traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk or classical music. Additional elements contributed to its "progressive" label: lyrics were more poetic, technology was harnessed for new sounds, music approached the condition of "art", and the studio, rather than the stage, became the focus of musical activity, which often involved creating music for listening, not dancing."
>where can I learn more about the genre?

Featured album: "In the Court of the Crimson King" by King Crimson (1969)
I'm gonna keep shilling this album. It's really good
>>73487210
name?
>>73487228
Komara by Komara. It has Pat Mastelotto in it and it shows. If you like 90s and 00s Crimson, you will like this. It's like industrial, avantgarde jazz, and metal all rolled into one amazing album.
How can an album that came out in 2015 have aged this badly?
I mean, I love this album, but it feels 2015 so fucking much.
>>73486763
The music industry hasn't changed much since 2015. The album is clearly steeped in that liberal (like actual politically liberal not the conservitard maymay) tempered optimism that followed Obama's election in 08, and the political landscape has changed so much since then that it's difficult to see the album as anything but a relic of a different time, even though it's way more recent than a lot of other albums that came out around 2010 and still sound like they could have been released today (imo MBDTF fits here).
That doesn't make TPAB bad, it's just a fact.

What are we going to do w/music that mentions Trump
I mean there was a lot of music mentioning Reagan/Bush..but the Trump thing...it's too easy for one

Drake's albums feel dated and boring three months after they've been released.
A lot of hip-hop is in the moment and doesn't hold up well, nobody's gonna be bumping Magnolia in a year.
Half of DAMN.'s praise is for how raw and emotional it is, but this is so much rawer, not to mention the infinitely more interesting production and subject matter. It predates DAMN. by two years, too, why would anyone listen to DAMN. when they could listen to this?
IDLSIDGO was the actual hip hop AOTY for 2015.
rap for teenagers
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
I havent seen one single Person tell me Damn is good because its "raw and emotional". Stop pulling shit out your ass just to shill for this trash album.

Is this the Beatles album that has aged the best?
Eh, honestly, I think everything from Rubber Soul to Abbey Road aged phenomenally. George Martin was a helluva of a producer.
>>73486671
No this one literally aged the worst.
Beatles for Sale aged the best.
>>73486671
Uhh no? songs about drugs, eastern india, and 'love'? the songs themselves are great but what theyre about is dated cliche
Abbey Road is the most contemporary. Let It Be comes close but its too focused on 'getting back' its too similar to its influences minus a track or two.
The psychedelic and early Beatlmania type albums are old
