Hi /mu/,
I've been making hip hop for a year now, and I've just gotten into sampling as an art.
Would /mu/ please give me music to sample?

gf likes Tool, Clutch, Blur, Radiohead, classic rock, aside from some britpop she's got the taste of a southern biker
Currently single but my most recent ex only listened to classical, jazz and One Direction

When she was in middle/high school, a lot of emo/screamo/scene stuff. Green Day, The Used, Silverstein, Atreyu, etc.
These days, it's mostly here-and-there stuff she picks up from TV and movies she likes (but that she wouldn't listen to/find of her own volition). But she really doesn't listen to much other than poppy stuff. I did introduce her to Father John Misty and Lana Del Rey, which she digs.
Thoughts on Rice Gum?

Been listening to pic related lately, some dude recced it to me a couple of days ago and it's some pretty good noise rock.
Anyone have any good industrial synth reccs?
I keep having this dream where Radiohead release a new album. Its not Kid B and no, its not TKOL pt. 2. Its a completely separate album, self-titled but with a space in the middle, so basically RADIO HEAD, and is their 10th and final album. It is a double album with 4 tracks, but none of them are shorter than 20 minutes. The tracks feature hard-hitting bongo drums, in fact the whole album is not even alt-rock but straight-up minimalism that sounds similar to some of Steve Reich's stuff, and the composition "Drumming" in particular, except the album has tons of orchestral singing and Thom's vocals are much more mellow, making it more similar to "Music for 18 Musicians" instead. And speaking of Reich, the Steve Reich ensemble is performing all the tracks on the album instead of the band members sans Thom, Ed and Johnny. Other features include Richard D. James on mechanic drums, The Hillard Ensemble on backing vocals, and the last track is a freeform EAI cacophony featuring Otomo Yoshihide and Markus Popp on electronics, and ends with a piano ballad by Thom that gets quieter and quieter until the last 5 minutes are nothing but rustles and sines, similar to Good Morning Good Night. The lyrics have tons of calls for the death of religion and decay of modern human character, and references towards old Radiohead albums, with The Bends and TKOL featuring the most lyrical and thematic references. The cover has all the Radiohead members, with Thom wearing a black hoodie covering most of his face, standing in front of an empty street with a blue hue similar to The Verve's video for Bittersweet Symphony, with a huge RADIO HEAD stamped on the top of the cover.

(2/2)
The album is met with a mixed reception, its panned by Pitchfork, and is a commercial failure. One week after the album's release all of the Radiohead members die in a mysterious plane crash. The album is proven to be the final nail in the coffin of rock and western art music, so much that Rock is outright banned from mainstream radioplay, and hip-hop and rap is forced as never ever before.
6 months after the album's release, Trump defeats Russia in a nuclear war and annexes the desert wastelands of Europe and announces the birth of an ancap US world government. Most of Radiohead is forgotten except for Pablo Honey and RADIO HEAD, the former being put in the programs of middle school classes for cultural study, and the latter for essential artistic study in high school and university classes.
Just thought I'd share.

When does one stop being a music fan and becomes a music snob?
I rapidly oscillate between both so at any given time I can claim to be either
I wouldn't worry about it too much, there are people who's jobs it is to worry about it

I keep having this dream where Vince Staples releases a new album. Its not Summertime '07 and no, its not a follow-up to Big Fish Theory. Its a completely separate album, called FARRAKHAN OF RAMONA, and is Vince's 3rd and final album. It has 8 tracks, but none of them are shorter than 7 minutes. The tracks feature hard-hitting breakbeats, in fact the whole album is not even hip-hop but straight-up harsh noise that sounds similar to Merzbow's Pulse Demon, and the track "Woodpecker No. 1" in particular, except the album has tons of distortion and Vince's rapping is much more aggressive, making it more similar to XXXTENTACION and Ski Mask the Slump God's track "Take a Step Back". And speaking of XXXTENTACION, he appears as a feature on the second track, the main single. Other features include Paris, SpaceGhostPurrp, Henry Rollins, and the last track is an industrial jazzfunk cacophony composed by Herbie Hancock, and ends with a piano ballad featuring SZA that evolves into the beat from the beginning of the first track, making the ending a prelude to the first track of the album, thus making the whole album a circle of sorts, similar to Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. The lyrics have tons of calls for black superiority and digs against the alt-right, with lyrics like "Yo red pill is a lie/ constructed by the Zion's eye/ Yo idol slayed the innocent jews/ so true manipulators could rule them sacred views/You indoctrinated my nigga Earl/Now that nigga only fucks and snorts white girl". The cover has Vince, wearing glasses and a bowtie similar to Louis Farrakhan on the cover of TIME Magazine, with the text "KKK" replacing the TIME logo, and "FARRAKHAN OF RAMONA" replacing the original "MINISTRY OF RAGE" title, with a caption "Vince Staples is a nigger that hates the glorious Jews and all of white AmeriKKKa. No wonder the niggers love him."

The album is met with a mixed reception, its panned by Pitchfork, and is a commercial failure. One week after the album's release Vince dies in a mysterious car crash. The album is proven so controversial that all of hip-hop completely disappears from the mainstream's view, and all the radios and televisions start playing post-grunge revival instead.
6 months after the album's release, Trump is assassinated and the United States fall into a new Civil War. The war culminates with a mass massacre directed against the South, and ends with the North reuniting the US as a Communist Socialist Federation, ruled by a pawn of the CPR. Vince is hailed as an artistic and poetic genius, similar to Mayakovski in the Soviet Union, and FARRAKHAN OF RAMONA is hailed as his creative magnum opus.
Just thought I'd share.
