I think this is a genre that's often overlooked, and ignored.
I'll start with a prompt:
Country Music after 9/11 really starts to suck, because it became formulaic, dogmatic, and even more unoriginal than it was before.

hmm, okay.
I don't think it always is folk music.
Like, especially around the 70s and 80s it went beyond the confines of folk, both lyrically, instrumentally, and in its production. Commercially It became a country music industry, which just doesnt fit into folk.

Hey guys, I know I'm going to get shit on for my opinions here, but I really like metal that sounds like the soundtrack of Metal Gear Rising https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gmzay5oAwOM and Guilty Gear Xrd https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANsFFoxh1LU and I need more of it. Yes, I know these are video game soundtracks and I'm a faglord for liking them.
I guess Velvet Revolver would be one of the first things I'd think of for music but they don't sound...intense enough? Some of Black Tide is good but they are very hit and miss. Megadeth is great but I've listened to them too much and I need something else. Pretty much all 80's hair metal turns me off with some exceptions, but 80's metal in general can be great with stuff like Megadeth. I don't like Disturbed. I fucking hate screamo and most hardcore death metal. Metallica's great but they don't really sound like what I've been looking for and I've listened to them too much anyways.
Also, fuck Dragonforce, that's meme music.
Metal seems to be a really hard genre to search for because there's like, what, 100 different subgenres of metal? I've been looking for this sound for a long time now.
I'm looking for badass heavy guitar, loud drums, and (optional) cheesy/empowering vocals that don't make much sense if you stop to think about them. Feel free to recommend OSTs if they sound good. Anybody have something I can listen to that might scratch that itch?

These people don't realize ""Nick Crompton"" is just David Thomas' son continuing the satirical music social commentary. The phrase "You know it's Nick Crompton" is genius. Do we really know Nick? It seems we are made to believe we know everyone with our narcissistic minds, however, "Nick" really asks us if we should so willingly believe our assumptions about the nature of others. His collar stay popping? Clearly not! We can see before our very eyes his collar is not only NOT POPPING, but it would be impossible for it to be seeing as it's a jean jacket. Many have speculated on this; To me, its a disturbing example of corporate ideology which attempts to disillusion what is most sacred to us: our rational understanding of the external world.
