Sorry if this is against the rules, I don't post on the music board often, or ever really, but this seemed like the best place to ask. Is there any kind of message board or website or forum that exists at least partially for the purpose of advertising live shows?

None that I'm aware of, maybe some local musician Facebook groups
>>
If you're in a band and have an account on certain sites like a nation of reverb, or a camp for bands, one can post announcement for shows there, otherwise face book is a good place.

There are probably some forum sites where you could do this as well, especially if they discuss local music.

I've heard that song "New York, I Love You" which is pretty good but also kinda gay. Is this band actually good and should I listen to them?
or are they just a stupid meme for annoying faggots?

It's really the lyrics that's important. The whole trilogy tells the story of government censorship. (Yeah, I'm one of the plebs who believe that lyrics are important. So what of it?)

Why are music teachers so unstable?

I have had six different music teachers throughout my school career and all of them were middle aged men with severe, I mean fucking severe, anger issues. All divorced, grouchy, constantly picking favorites and screaming more than any other teachers in any subject combined.

You can't say it's because the school I went to hired shitty teachers, because I went to multiple schools across the country - some good, some bad, but they all had this crazy music teacher. The only one who wasn't batshit insane was one who got busted for a bunch of crazy shit and fired.

I mean, if I ended up giving lessons to autists who think they are going to be next mozart instead of working for a high profile orchestra I would be bitter too.

I'm talking about public school teachers, not private tutors.

Comparing this favorably to anything makes no sense.
It took well over 100 people to make, and was released in 2010.

Why aren't Alice Cooper listed as one of the classic proto-punk bands alongside The Stooges, The Velvet Underground, and MC5? They very directly influenced the Ramones and the Sex Pistols.

Because people are so weak minded that they feel the need to put things into little boxes, so if you called Alice Cooper proto-punk, you'd literally have masses of retards screaming "they influenced metal, not punk!"

But you're absolutely right, they were a critical proto-punk group.

Also, the Sex Pistols were a major influence on hair metal, the Melvins were part of the Seattle grunge scene, Ted Nugent's anti-drug stance was a big influence on early straight edge punks, Uriah Heep was just as important to power metal as Rainbow, and goth was a massive influence on black metal. But if you mention any of this, retards will howl at you like banshees.

You ask a very good question, OP.

I remember when I first heard Young, Loud, and Snotty by The Dead Boys, and almost immediately, the album KILLER came to mind. Listen to Killer, and Billion Dollar Babies, and you'll understand why The Dead Boys did hat they did.

Also thanks for posting the rare original cover of Love It to Death.

I still can't believe how so against punk Alice Cooper was, since he helped influence it.

i thought this was obvious

Is "Zef" even a real music genre?
Can it be comparable to British "grime"? Or is Die Antwoord the only people doing Zef...

Die Antwoord is a comedy rap group, and it's only the latest in a string of projects. The album they did as the Constructus Corporation is one of the greatest indie rap albums of all time, but it went unrecognized, so they dumbed themselves down, and the result is Die Antwoord. That they found massive success with their most self-consciously dumb project is telling about society.

The word 'Zef' is just the South African slang term for white trash or redneck.
