This is what did it for me. I grew up in a Southern Baptist church, but we never sang anything like this.

>wearing a shirt with lezbos making out
You'll look like a sex pervert, and I say this as someone who thinks the shirt is aesthetically appealing
I'd think you were a major goober if I saw you wearing that in public.
>>74029635
You sound like a virgin. Its just a shirt. There are dudebros who wear shit like this all the time.
Why has he never grown up?
I love metal music but desu so many of the older metal guys just look like cringy ass people irl
>>74029507
Not OP but I was going to say this.
Anyone who tries to cling to a rebellious youthful image as they age is going to look pathetic.
>>74029553
i watched an interview with devin townsend where he said he considered himself lucky that none of his projects were ever extremely successful for that reason. you get famous for doing something aggressive and angry when you're 20 years old and you get locked into doing that for the rest of your life and you look like a fool when you're 40 years old
peter steele from type o negative said something really similar
Where to start with jazz?
I want to listen to more jazz because I have enjoyed the little I have heard, and I'd like a broader base of knowledge for potential sampling opportunities.
>>74029460
What genres do you like? Fav albums?
You're in luck that im on the board rn, so i'll help ya out
>>74029460
Normally people would say to start with Kind of Blue, but while it's hugely influential it won't make much sense until later where it will click. As for getting deeper - I'd say start in the beginning of jazz and watch as it develops. A few reccomendations are Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane. It's pretty entry level, but following their work and of people that have worked with them, you can pretty much get anything you'd like.
>>74029460
Jazz really evolved pretty consistently from the early 20th century up until about 1970, so I'd recommend trying a few of the big albums from each decade/style of Jazz and seeing what you like, and then going down the rabbit hole from there. Also Swing/Big Band is awesome don't avoid it.
Was it autism?
>>74029258
It's always autism
>>74029258
It was apparently anti-degeneracy.
I initially thought it was just "stop liking what I don't like" autism, but it was a fear of the drug/casual sex/hedonism lifestyle being promoted to children.
>>74029258
Yes. In the 1970s, people said intelligent things like, "LMAO look at those autists burning meme records."
I don't care who buys the record so long as they get to the Black people so I will be remembered when I die. I'm not playing for any white people, man. I wanna hear a black guy say 'Yeah, I dig Miles Davis.'
nigga looks like he's being haunted by his own hair

320 where
Borderline OCD/autistic music related things you guys do? Any weird habits that you wouldn't dare discuss in a normal music conversation. Let it out, no one here will judge.
I keep a digital list of every album/piece I've ever listened to, as well as a list for the works I've heard released from the current year sorted by date listened and again by best to worst.
Of course I also have an external hard drive that all my music is stored on where all the tags and such are scrutinized. It's well over a terabyte now, and I have hopes that I can pass it on to my kid some day, or move the files once external storage becomes cheaper or more efficient. It's definitely my proudest possession.
In the car I can only have the volume on an even number.

I would, but I can't bring myself to give hard ratings to art. Just doesn't feel right.
