What bands did you used to think would remain popular or at least continue to be remembered down the line that weren't? Loose criteria are that the last big commercial/critical splash the band had had to have been over five years ago and that people generally agree that stuff released since then hasn't been very widely devoured. Extra points for being a big generational touchstone that is completely ignored by younger millennials/Gen Z (older millennials or Gen X if you're old as shit, I guess).
I'll start that I thought Dirty Projectors and Grizzly Bear would remain huge indie darlings forever. Now, I barely know anyone who's listened to them, and those who have usually respond with a bunch of nostalgia for Veckatimest or Bitte Orca and wondering aloud whatever happened to either band.
I mean, fuck, when I first started coming here, Bitte Orca was /mu/core. In comparison, see how well MPP continues to do at getting discussed and heralded and remembered.
I really only liked one song off of Bitte Orca. But yeah it's interesting to see what was /mu/core in 2010, which I still have the pic.

Any thoughts on it? After the first listen I like it a lot. It has a pretty cool atmosphere that sort of reminds me of the Ipecac trilogy. I'm sure I'll be listening to it a lot.
2 released songs suck
>>73804075
First side sounded too much like Basses Loaded but without the experimentation.
The riffs were good but not great and the first song dragged on for 2-3 minutes too long. Even if it is only 38 minutes. Side Two was filled with cool sounds and had a dark atmosphere, but it would benefit having been cut down. 6/10
>>73804798
Even if Side Two is a soundtrack for a movie and not an album in the proper sense, all the best Melvins albums combined experimental stuff with the stoner sludge stuff such as Hostile Ambient Takeover, Eggnog/Lysol, Stag. Id probably also enjoy Side One of they turned up the distortion and made the beats heavier. However Christ Hammer and Euthanasia are great songs.
Hi, I know this is a longshot but there's a song that i must know the name of.
The chorus goes like 'lala la lala' and the genre is Hip Hop. Sounds like something by Sage The Gemini but i cant find any songs like that by him. The song is played in clubs quite often.
This is literally all i know about the song. Its been playing in my head all day, yet i dont know the name or artist.
>inb4 spergs saying reee hip hop etc
>>73804050
I mean it obviously isn't this but the chorus part you described sounds like salad days. So here's a bump I guess
>>73804320
haha that song is far from hip hop, but appreciate the bump :D
