name a single band better than the '71 Allman Brothers .
>you can't
easy, fucking allman brothers just copied the sound of their contemporaries.
also when was the last time you heard an allman bros sample in some recent music?
i didn't think so.

Hey /mu/ I've been playing guitar for about 10 years, learned how to record and mix music and do that for a living, my other job is as a music teacher where I teach 4 instruments. And honestly, I'm having trouble just listening and zoning out to music like I could when I was a kid. I think I've gone too deep. How can I relearn how to appreciate it like someone who knows nothing about it?
Try listening to your personal classic music and the stuff from when you were a kid. Can bring new appreciation

For me it's reading lyrics and people's interpretations of them.

I second this. Nostalgia tripping with my new perspectives on music helped me find better appreciation for a lot of the records I used to play.
Approach what you love with a new perspective. You'll pick up on new things, do new research, and that could all be carried over into respecting new sounds,
