She was an icon, and undoubtedly influenced bands worldwide. Goth-rock would not be a widespread phenomenon without her. But, unlike her model Nico, she was "only" an icon, and never a musician. Thanks to heavy promotion from major labels since the beginning of her career, she did achieve a bigger commercial success that the rest of dark-punk's emaciated ranks but at the expense of sacrifing whatever little originality her music had. If nothing else, the commercial scam helped give the genre some credibility with labels, which in turn materialized in a broader acceptance of gothic music worldwide. That is what Siouxsie will be remembered for.

Definitely.
I find it bizarre how certain musical subgenres lead to the fans having such shit taste.
I mean sure, the cure is decent, joy division is great but then you've got bands like siouxsie and bauhaus that are just mockeries of the gothic aesthetic and the fans love them.

There's an atmospheric black metal album that I found a while back, one that was only supposed to be released physically and not digitally. I was far too stupid to write down the name of the band or save an image of the album art, but trying to find this band again is quite the task. The album art was mostly black and red, showcasing a solar eclipse that seemed to be dripping light Describing the album art is about all I can do. It looks similar to the picture I posted

I Don't use this site, so excuse me if this post comes out weird.

Any help finding this album would be appreciated

man was fucking brilliant, i wish i could write guitar parts like he did
bands like radiohead come up with great guitar parts that arent boring chords and super duper fast soloing, but thats because they have 3 guitar parts, probably more in the studio
