they write good music
yeah but how is it good, what's something that you can use to distinguish good music from bad music
>>73872968
Good music sounds good
Bad music sounds bad
Simple as that
Anyone on /mu/ listen to any folk punk?
yeah a little
the only band that's REALLY stuck with me from my high school folk punk days is this bike is a pipe bomb though
oh and the taxpayers
>>73871619
Not if I can help it
>>73872537
The taxpayers are fucking rad.
I know a lot of people that'll tell you that they hate me
Cause they know I bring out the weird side
Some say I'm a genius others say that I'm crazy
But they all say I'm a little on the weird side
I've never really listened to this whole album but I love "Here for You" and "How Eye One the Write too Think"
>>73871580
It ain't like I can help it, it's the way I was raised
That's why I'm living every minute on the weird side
>>73871743
It's a hard album to get into fully. There are a couple really good singles like weird side and what do you pay that anyone can get into. But I'm a bigger fan of his weird tracks. He has the most moving lyrics out of anyone i've ever listened to
"I know you feel alone, but just look up at the stars
And everything that is out there is what you really are"
I heard in a lot of places about how good this album's production is. Is it really that good?
Also NIN thread.
>>73871554
Why don't you listen to it and decide for yourself?
aged like shit
>>73871909
na, this is a perfect example of timeless production
How can I emulate the feeling of checking new music in an organic way?
Right now, I go through lists on RYM to find me new albums but I keep myself backlogging 100s of albums and by the time i check them I will already forget them lol.
I want to find an album, listen to if with curiousity and evaluate my thoughts on it the same day I find them.
What do you suggest guys?
>>73871550
>find album
>listen to album
>switch albums if you think it sucks
>repeat
I force myself to have a backlog of, at most, 40 releases (albums/EP's/compilations) yet-to-be-listened at any given time. The list of other stuff I may consider getting in the future is kept in a .txt file.
>>73871576
This. Backlogs are dumb, just let your curiosity run wild.
You guys know what to do. Rec/Rate/Guess a thing
>>74066169
I don't know much here but I like NIN and Laurel Halo.
>>74066169
hello
gonna guess that you are having a nice, quiet day and you eat a lot of fruit
>>74066210
Dan Deacon is a lot of fun. I've seen him live before, actually. Great show. How's that OPN soundtrack, btw?

Driving on a sunny day blasting the album Around The Fur.

Deftones' entire catalog is underrated. The worst part is everyone wrote them off as part of the nu metal fad just as they started releasing some of the best material of their career. Saturday Night Wrist, Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan contain some of their best material.
>>73871428
I agree, I think since Around The Fur they were ahead of "the scene", then Pony came in and set them to a whole new level.
It's a shame people compare them to Limp Bizkit, Korn and stuff like that.
I blast SNW almost every week.
>>73871211
>tfw you'll never be a little kid playing dave Mirrors pro BMX on the ps1 for the first time ever again. Why even live?
Holy shit, Nusrat is the fucking man. Anyone else with a voice this emotive?
i haven't listened to him besides a few samples but if it's emotive voices i rec
>Roscoe Holcomb
>Robbie Basho
>Keiji Haino
>Mibu Furukawa
>>73871358
Love Robbie Basho. Thanks for the other reccs!
Is she related to George Bush or something?
she's his mother
>>73871237
Both Bush's are older than her.
Yeah. The "W" in George W. Bush stands for "Wuthering."

hello dad!
>FLAC (Fedora Loser Audio Codec) believes it's worth more digital real estate on my hard drive
Why?
My M50s broke and I need a new pair. I've noticed some people actually say the M40s are better now. Why and is it true?
Also headphone general I guess.
>>73871160
Get some Phillips shp9500. Don't fall for the m40 and m50 meme. Half the cost as well.
