>going to college to study music with the goal to be a great musician
>thinking the education system can bring you up to speed with people that have been playing their instruments since they were 13
>not understanding life experience is a thousand times more valuable when it comes to art
or
>going to college to study music with the goal of being a ?scholar of music???
>"Hey well I may not be able to do anything with this degree, but I REALLY enjoy this class!"
>literally more retarded than any retard that actually plays an instrument
>accumulate an amount of debt you could never pay off
>work in an office for the rest of your life with your "doctor of music" degree framed in your cubicle
why did you go to college for fucking music of all things?
bump for you to feel bad

>not understanding life experience is a thousand times more valuable when it comes to art
If we are talking about actual music instead of trash like rock, metal, hip-hop or pop, formal education in music theory is significantly more valuable than life experience.

>not viewing education as something to enrich your life instead of a vehicle to land you a job
Shame you have such a boring outlook
What are some songs similar to Mind Playin Tricks on Me by Geto Boys? Been jammin this a lot and want some similar suggestions
>inb4 "that sounds not on that album"
I don't know how they're similar but I listened to both of these songs a lot in high school.

This is the modern day version of Mind Playin Tricks On Me (and arguably just as good)

>Fleet Foxes - 8/10
The songs were all catchy as fuck, but the songwriting and compositions were never very complicated or interesting. Very nice pop album.
Best track: Blue Ridge Mountains
>Helplessness Blues - 6.5/10
The lyrics were much more matured from their previous album, and the composition was slightly more complex, but I got bored of it very soon. There are times when I feel that the vocal melodies do not match the instruments. Bedouin Dress was a terrible choice to put right after Montezuma.
Best track: Helplessness Blues
>Crack-Up - 9/10
The lyrics have matured even more since Helplessness Blues, and they didn't fuck up the musicality this time. Pecknold utilizes a mixture of classic, acoustic instruments and adds a modern twist with subtle usage of synths. It's a lot more melodic and open-sounding, and less crowded than Helplessness Blues.
Best track: Third of May / Ĺdaigahara
Dream recs
Post a dream you had recently and respond to the person who had it with an album that sounds like the dream
I'll post a dream, but I'm no lazyposter, so I'll also respond to the first person who responds in the thread
>be me
>at the bottom of a battleship
>everything is hazy
>hallway is seemingly endless
>friend's girlfriend's sister there with me
>talking about weird shit like spooky garbage and 80s movies like in real life
>progressively, without me really picking up on it at first, she starts hitting on me
>eventually turns into a thing where we're fucking on a bed in a small room, only big enough for a small bed
>she sounds like audio from a Sega genesis game, and I can't even feel my body
>start autistically thinking about if I'd listened to enough albums that day and start panicking
>close eyes
>now on a boat that looks like one from the movie adaptation of Life of Pi
>don't even like boats
If there's an album that actually sounds like how this >felt please rec.
