Looking for inspo: great blues lead players that have an original style and are technically very good (not metal)
it is important that they play cleanly and effortlessly when soloing, and have a DISTINCT style that can be easily differentiated from the others. I am looking for inspiration from players that accomplish this; I would have included Jimmy Page but he is a sloppy player compared to these guys. Any other suggestions? I also did not include Joe Bonnamassa, he is undoubtedly very technically accomplished, more so than anybody on this list, but his playing isnt very original as he unabashedly parrots Clapton and Johnson albeit at breakneck speed.
SRV
Freddie King
Angus Young
Eric Johnson
Eric Clapton
Can anybody add more? Please adhere to the parameters indicated above.

Why are you looking for other blues (rock) players then? That style has hardly been original since the 70's.
>Low through Scary Monsters newly remastered
>Lodger getting a new remix approved by Bowie before his passing
>Stage getting two new tracks, Jean Genie & Suffragette City
>Re:call 3
This calls for a David Bowie thread.
ive been waiting for this one

I was honestly just wondering when they were going to release the Berlin boxset this morning
>>73885388
There was a boxset released years back called Zeit! which only compiled Low through Lodger w/ Stage, but this seems to be the essential set with a Heroes EP thrown in, various single versions & Baal.
I'm only disappointed there isn't more demo material.
I found my interest in music between 10 and 13, and then I was hooked on nu-metal and house music. House didn't have lyrics apart from "Let me think about it", "There's nothing more that I want than to be with you" and so on and the nu metal mostly had shitty lyrics that ruined the songs for me so I didn't listen to the lyrics.
Now, at 23, I don't have a habit of caring about lyrics. It's just not a natural part of me listening to music. I want to change this, in order to be able to appreciate great music fully.
a) How should I go about this
b) Come forward, anons who plow through discographies without listening to the lyrics
Caring about lyrics in music is like caring about plot in film. Only plebs do it.

but we're missing out on half of the thing
>Puts a 4/4 beat and a bassline over a 70s funk sample
i fucking hate white people
Whats the point?
>>73884926
If they're playing different beats it creates a really cool feeling, but unfortunately I feel like King Gizz really wastes the potential of it, since the two guys are playing the exact same parts most of the time.

it adds a lot more "punch" to the sound of your drums. plus you can do some really interesting and trippy shit regarding polyrythyms and fills.
