most of being an ~artist~ or what have you feels like bashing your head against a wall. there's a lot of slog, dreary practise and days of writing and re-doing takes that go nowhere.

Anyone else really relate to the dude in the Arctic Monkeys’ video ‘Why You Only Call Me When You’re High’ and feel bad for him? The video begins with the song ‘Do I Wanna Know’ playing in the background of a dive-bar. The protagonist drunkenly searches through his phone, and at one point the device appears to connect to his hand, implying technology-addiction. Before he leaves the bar, shit starts to morph like he’s on acid or shrooms. He starts to picture random people fucking, and everyone he passes on the street is visibly pissed-off with him. At one point, he collapses, and a black man yells “get up, you prick!” My interpretation of the video is that he regularly gets fucked up and acts a fool around town, as everyone seems to recognize him. The poor dude sends drunken/high messages to all his contacts, yet nobody responds, because he only calls them when he’s high.
