Any genre is fine
is this the most overrated "metal" song?

It's pretty good, but I've always liked And Then There Was Silence better.
Singing it live is amazing.
For the sake of not having a thread totally dedicated to one question I'd like to make this into a thread where people trying to learn music can ask questions for people that know musical theory
I'm trying to learn jazz piano but I'm very confused on how anything works
Most people will tell you that you just need to follow a simple chord progression but no matter how hard I try I can't use that logic to understand how something like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-4-Kg2qJt0
works musically
For starters a lot of the chords don't follow the Cmaj7 progression like how he's throwing a Cm7 in or a D7 when he should be playing a Dm7 and then some chords just don't fit that scale at all like the Ebm7
Can anyone tell me what is happening?

it's no good when u feel bad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AteLk0adJP8&t=1h47m53s
I missed the one in Missoula last night.
According to brownbase they played The Stallion Pt. 2 for the first time in 14 years and only the 2nd time ever.
why does not one talk about the most ambitious music project of the last 20 years?

MOOOOTHEEEEEEEEEER
Can someone tell me the appeal of the Digitakt over the Octatrack, other than that it's simpler? You can can a second hand Octatrack for the same price also.
>>73984155
I'm not a big fan of the guy, but Cuckoo did a pretty expansive video addressing your exact question. Personally I don't find the Digitakt appealing at all, it doesn't do anything I can't do with my Push 2 except the Elektron trig shit. The Octatrack is overly complex and daunting, some people like that some people hate it, I believe this just takes away a lot of that complexity.
>>73984359
Thanks, i'll check his video out. They're always far too long though
>>73984359
The OT isn't really overly complex imo. It can do a lot that you wouldn't expect(4 track mixer/8 track looper) so it takes time to learn the machines. Working with just samples on the OT is very easy.
I've been traversing the depths of the internet for months now trying to find a specific infrographic. I saw it posted in /b but have yet to have any luck seeing it again. The infographic was of different chord progressions on guitar with examples of what songs or bands used that similar progression. Not the one with the circles. I specifically remember Radiohead but that's about it. Any fine patron who could help me find it would be greatly reimbursed for their troubles.
Holy shit

What was your favorite scene from this show?
>that scene where mike and brian are arguing over formula and mike nearly kills brian with a broken dinner plate
Really the whole formula arc was a masterpiece
>the scene where they unmask the villain and it's murray Wilson

I think the whole show jumped the shark when it turned out the mummy was really Charles Manson in bandages.
The melon finally did it

>Mouse and The Mask
>Born Like This
>Operation Doomsday
>Mm.Food
>Madvillainy
Prove me wrong
When someone who likes hip-hop is a big DOOM fan I think it's kinda cool but when a /mu/tant or Fantano love him it makes me think less of them
Weird
okay so theres this one band i found on apple music titled Make Me! and i cant find a single bit of information of them online. they play like some type of indie with some unique synths and its really good. does anyone know anything about this band?
I'm learning and memorizing as many chords and scales as I can and play around with them to try to recreate songs I like and writing melodies of my own.
>>73983903
Yeah, you're a genius man
keep going
>>73983903
Pure memorisation is maybe not the way to go, you basically just want enough of an understanding of the patterns that go into them to be able to improvise around them.

Covers you think are as good as/better than the original?
Covers you think are unneccesary/shit?
Covers that sound nothing like the original but work in their own right?
