>very talented
>>74013708
I don't get this album. It's a mess and not a single second of it sounds to me like something I want to willingly listen to. I seriously don't understand the appeal at all.
What's best

The only fucking correct answer unless you're a hick and too lazy to drive to your nearest town then whatever the internet throws at you.

ITT: worst drum sounds ever
Most 80s stuff
great album, but the snare is way too loud and the drums sound like shit overall
what's the point of making music? what's the point of listening to music?
how do i balance my love for pop songs or pop elements in music in general, with my distaste of seeing music mostly as a way to "have fun" making/listening to it?
i'm not a pop contrarian and I don't want to be one at all, but how do i stop that feeling of emptiness, of lack of purpose, when i hear a pop producer whose songs i love say that they make music "for fun"? which difference is there in me shooting some heroin and listening to his songs? is there none?
and when making music, how to balance expression and catchiness?
please respond, im having kind of a crisis here and i know most people here make music
Fun is legitimate, although it's not all you should be doing with music if it's supposed to be expressive. One thing music can do is capture the essence of an emotion.
As far as balance goes, you can just legitimately do what you want if you want it to be individual and poppy, since you like pop music.

I'll listen to it with headphones in the morning, but it seems like it's a cool song
me, being the fuck i am, thought the ideal music was pure expression, so i made noise music which resonated more with that ideal. in reality, i rarely listen to noise electronic music. who would like to listen to music that's pure expression? it would be just a shitty abstract mess of sounds.
for example, i like kero kero bonito. one of the producers said their last song "is about global warming", really? how can the listeners tell? is it all just ironic, post-ironic garbage? what's the point of it?
even though, i cant help but just love what they sound like, but now i feel like the whole experience of music, of all the "music highs" and trances i experienced, just lacks substance
i need to fix this contradiction since i became aware of it, but I don't want to stop enjoying music

Were they the best at writing hooks literally ever?

I'm going to start a rock band.
What are you looking for in a rock band?
I aim to satisfy my audience.
I like learning disabled white trash in clown makeup. Make sure you rap too
periodically incorporate brass instruments, they add a whole different level to certain songs when used correctly,
see: Modest Mouse - Spitting Venom
>>74013547
I'm totally down with using non-normal instruments.

wow u listened to the 5 minute song in a minute howd u do that
>>74013531
it's radio-friendly pop "trap"
the last 4 minutes are going to sound exactly like the first one
HOLY SHIT
What's the serious appeal to this? It's just some millennial hipster fronting some mediocre indie rock and it's pretentious as hell. The parts where he talks about song structure midway through the song is especially cringe inducing. This isn't bait I just don't see the appeal and I feel like I'm missing out on something good
people like different things anon
it's for teenagers with performative depression. not enjoying it is a good sign
>>74013260
when does he talk about song structure outside of bodys?
Classic?
>>74013205
I mean, it's good
damn i had no idea that cunt halsey was on this. How'd she get that gig?
This is obviously the superior album. I still dont get why everyone shits themselves over R+7 so much.
>>74013152
you're wrong but I agree
>>74013152
both are great, but garden of delete is his masterpiece. i used to hate it but i've come full circle. the amount of detail that he put into that record is astounding
