Discuss.
Megadeth but only for the first 4 albums.
megadeth is cool and all but they didn't make ride the lightning
I think the are both great bands, but do to my personal taste I say Metallica
How can white people even compete?
I've never met a single black person who likes these rappers

>conscious hip hop
By not shooting each other in the streets.
By not having a victim complex.
I'm on the market to buy a turntable. How important is it to have a counterweight on the arm?
>>74210602
probably the most important thing
Counterweight just adjusts how heavy the needle sits on the record. If the needle sits too heavy, it'll destroy the grooves faster. However, even the cheapest turntables without counterweights are calibrated to just about the perfect tracking pressure, i.e.~2 grams.
>>74210677
Is that so? I was told to avoid counterweight-less tables like the plague.

This is the ideal album. You may not like it but this is what perfection sounds like.

Close, but no cigar
great album, the album cover is one of my favorites too
this is better
Can you guys recommend me some dancy/catchy post-punk/punk/indie/alt rock/whatever tracks?
Thinking something in the lines of:
Gang of Four - Damaged Goods
Joy Division - Disorder
Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
The National - Don't Swallow the Cap
or even slower songs that kinda match this such as:
The Clash - London Calling
Television - Marquee Moon
The Stone Roses - I Wanna be Adored
ty
Bloc Party - Silent Alarm is basically Entertainment! rewritten for 2000's indie kids
>>74209998
If you like Disorder then check out the New Order albums Movement and Power, Corruption & Lies
The opener of PC&L is better than 90 percent of the songs Joy Division ever wrote tbqhwy
Have you accepted this as the best album of the 2000s yet?
In the top ten for sure
That's a 2010s record

kek
> be chillin with some new friends, smoking weed in their apartment
> one dude gets invited to this dope pool party, says we can tag along
> im stoked, thinking I am finally becoming cool
> get there, its full of drunk sluts and frat dudes
> there are two huge speakers bumping typical top 40 rap
> see the aux cord, decide to pull a prank
> hook up my phone and start playing Starless
> thought it would be really funny and people would think I am cool
> everyone just goes quiet for a few seconds, and then they all start freaking out and yelling at me
> host of the party gets super fucking pissed and physically shoves me out of his property
> tells me if I come back he will beat me up
what the fuck, why are normies such douchebags
Please tell me you're not actually that autistic.

Please tell me you're not actually that autistic.
>>74209951
>tells me if I come back he will beat me up
Why didn't you take the challenge pussy.
People are deeply misunderstanding this record
It's a statement on simulacra and simulation akin to some James Ferraro albums or "White Noise" by Delillo
>>74209931
How?
>>74209939
It's infinite content.
this is indistinguishable from old Arcade Fire, which was also shit. this is just normies trying to separate themselves out from the newer crop of normies
>writes off The Lovers and TITP in like two sentences
>shits on The Background World
>calls Less Than generic, while "bland as fuck rager #537" is the only track he liked
not gonna call him a pleb, but I don't think NIN is really for him
>>74209811
>watching a music show for normies
get out
His least favorite track off NTAR was Burning Bright
He only liked NTAE was angery and still fucked that review up by comparing "The Idea Of You" to "Pretty Hate Machine"
Shitty review.
Fuck this bald cunt.
I'M CATCHING UP WITH MYSELF

>>74209794
>tfw not intelligent enough to include pic
does anyone else feel like album covers are a big part of how we hear music we're listening to? for me album covers give me a visual to think of when listening to an album, almost like a music video for an entire album but just in one picture. i don't think iv'e ever seen anyone talk about this, and i want to know if i'm not the only one who thinks so much about album covers.
no matter how good the music if it has shit art I can't listen to it
true
>>74209732
Album covers are as essential as the music itself
http://pigeonsandplanes.com/discover/2017/07/10-new-indie-rock-bands/cende
Thoughts on this list? For anyone who doesn't want to click, the bands are:
Sheer Mag
Crumb
Japanese Breakfast
Pinegrove
HINDS
Public Access TV
Priests
Girlpool
CENDE
Snail Mail
Personally I've only listened to HINDS and I didn't like them.
killing what? the beer industry?
killing what? trump supporters?
Hinds aren't good, but their music is kind of silly and charming. I can see why people like them. Didn't care for that Pinegrove album last year, even a ton of people were. Love Girlpool.
