What are some good country albums from this year? I've only listened to pic related so far.

Tyler Childers' Purgatory.
It's not officially out yet, but even on a shitty NPR stream Childers comes through with very well-structured traditionalist country. It's reminiscent of "the good ol' days" of country, and almost sounds like it could have come straight out of 1979. The lyrics aren't overly politicized, it's one of the least edgy alternative country releases in a while. Rather, Childers decides to focus on creating detailed, pastoral images out of the stories on his songs, a welcome break from the likes of Jason Isbell and the Drive-By Truckers - a break with depth, at that. The only iffy part of it is that his vocals are somewhat hit-and-miss, such as on "Tattoos," but more often than not he carries the album well.
It'll probably grow into one of my most favorite albums of 2017. Check it out, "Whitehouse Road" and "I Swear (To God)" especially.

What is the most controversial opinion by the melon guy? Pic related.
>>74263885
I guess giving DAMN a 7 is fine, but he's given much worse albums better scores, like Flower Boy.
Daily reminder that TKOL is one of their best albums.
>>74263885
Well I mean yeah they're both garbage albums.
Do you think that he will have any significant career in music?
I think his more serious wanabee rapper songs are fucking awful
>>74263799
nah, he's a pretty cringy dude lbr.
>>74263799
no i dont
He has some juicy beats though and he can rap relatively good.
Still no, he's gonna stick with meme music which dies in a couple weeks.
Been listening to Kate Bush, Tori Amos, and Fiona Apple.
Any similar worth checking out?

Do you think there any truth to this? Have you ever believed this to be the case? Does this apply to hair/funk metal?
>>74263529
Hair metal is linked to being a dad born sometime in the 1960s or 1970s
>>74263546
And funk metal?
Definitely.
I go to school at a creative college where you can get degrees in stuff like music.
All the metal kids are so awkward and nerdy.
They are very similar to the computer game design kids.
