I sat down and listened to the whole album in one sitting.
Not sure if it's a masterpiece or the worst thing I've ever done to my ears, but it certainly made an impression.
I think Cudi went deep inside his psyche and wrote down his drug induced view on his depression and existential crisis, which he is able to express. sometimes in clear words other times in confusing/confused chunks of words.
the repeating of the same riff over and over again is either from a lack of ability, the impression that it sounds good while he was damn high or maybe as an expression of how his thoughts repeat themselves again and again; how he's going in circles/insane
some songs are actually easier to listen to, like CONFUSED or Judgemental Cunt.
I have the feeling that during recording this album, he lay on the floor, high as a kike and sang in a microphone, that rested on his chin
if there's any credit to give, it's that it seems to be genuine. he had some massive balls releasing this.
what's your opinion?

It's not really a huge surprise, though. He was 27 when MCR broke through. He's not good looking like he used to be, but he doesn't look horrible either. He kind of looks like an average joe, and his style actually kind of reminds me of local post-hardcore and sludge bands. The first MCR album is actually a legit post-hardcore album, so if MCR reunites, I'd love to see them go back to their roots and see what could've been, if they hadn't gone down the Hot Topic/emo-pop/cuddly goth route.
