Will Grimes be the most influential artist of this decade 5-10 years from now?
>>74255095
no.
>>74255095
Insofar as pop stars are concerned, yes. Because she's the only one out there (agaik) doing things like making sample packs for other musicians to make music with. In 10 ten years Grimes' influence is going to be HUGELY influential to the music world, Just more likely in terms of what music ends up sounding like rather than what some music journalist has to say about what's important.
>>74255390
* out there (afaik)...

ITT: We post albums that are similar in sound or related in some manner and other people tell you which one is better. The catch is you actually have to provide reasons why you think it is better. For example, pic related are two similar albums but "I think Here Come the Indian is better because it experiments with much stranger more alien textures and the vocals are a lot creepier. Overall they just achieve their goal aesthetic more effectively...." or something like that
U2 - Zooropa
Arcade Fire - Everything Now
>>74277016
Everything now is way worse because it was made in 2017 and by that nature is way more complacent.
>>74276997
Beaches and Canyons is better because Here Comes the Indian wouldn't exist without it plus the drums are way better
Pick one, and you cant listen to the other one for the rest of your life
I pick blonde
Kanye and it's not even close
Blond and it's not even close
Like there are zero good songs on MBDTF
>>74276686
Blonde, of couse. I like MBTDF but it isn't as interesting as Blonde.
Also, Blonde might be one of the most emotional experiences I have ever had while listened to an album.

Are Rusty and Ryro really related? Is FOB really dead? We will ever get a Santi reunion tour? Was Cobra Starship actually really good? TOP are only problematic because they are famous right? Does GCH qualify as tumblrcore yet? What happened in Cape Town? Is Jon Walker going insane or is it just the weedrawals?
My girlfriend died a few months ago. Recommend me some music to indulge in both the pain and happiness. Please.

What do you guys think of Joanna Newsom? Honestly I think her music is pretty good
>>74276102
I WANT TO SUPER PENETRATE HER AND TASTE ALL OF HER VAGINAL JUICES AND MIX THEM WITH MY SWEAT AND CUM AND FEED THEM TO HER MOUTH TO MOUTH YUMMY YMMUYY I WANT TO BE MOMMY JOANNAS CUTE LITTLE BOY TOY
>>74276133
This but unironically
A woman and her harp.
Strum me away to fantasy land you magniloquent minstrel. My boner increases in girth with each wheat-fingered fleck of your yew-stringed lullaby maker.
And that voice, it's like angels fingering each other in helium heaven while pedophiles masturbate in hell.
Yes this album has it all. Oh, how I pine for a life in Narnia where I can see the computer generated deepthroating lion or make love to bizzaro Galadriel, and this album makes it a reality + mescaline.
Stand naked in a half full bubblebath and pour this album over yourself like oil paint. Rub it into your filthy body, and always remember to scrub behind your ears and underneath your nuts.
Can we talk about this album? I missed it when it first came out, but I just listened for the first time and I think it's really interesting.
Dude I'm literally listening to this album right now. The 4th movement of the closing track track is my fucking jam. It's overshadowed, definitely. My second favorite Sufjan album, behind Seven Swans
>>74275988
It's in my top three for the decade. I think it's one of his best. I hope he goes back to his back to his more maximalist style now that he's done with C&L
>>74276063
Planetarium is pretty maximalist, and gives off some Adz vibes
>discuss.
>>74275868
Terrible sense of humor. Decent entry-level tutorials. Seems nice.
too memey and i don't agree with his music opinions but probably a nice guy
>>74275899
ive listened to the needledrop podcast he was on and it was definitely one of my favorites
ok i swallowed the bite. what's the purpose of this cunt?
>>74275652
The conductor?
He keeps time, keeps everybody together, and leads the whole thing.
Without a conductor, the instruments would fall out of sync and you wouldn't get the chorus effect of the instruments, especially the string sections where it's vital.
>>74275695
are you fucking kidding me? all he does is wave his wand in the rhythm of the song
literally anyone could do that. how the fuck do i land his job?
he often doesn't keep time, everyone already should be practiced enough to keep it, he's usually a few beats ahead, acting out how he wants upcoming parts to be played, giving reminders to sections/soloists
What are the most and least hipster genres?
It seems like the most hipster genre might be dance-punk, and the least might be power metal.
>>74275505
kill yourself
Most hipster is Vaporwave
Least hipster is jambands
>>74275562
People really need to stop throwing that around for everything. You kill yourself.
>>74275567
Good suggestions.
Another hipster genre might be minimal synth.
