Can anyone recommend any other good white rappers? Was recently having a little search for other good white rappers besides the obvious.
I was surprised by the amount there are that have actual hip-hop acclaim and genuinely noteworthy creativity / output.
Some that I found that some of you may be familiar with...
- Aesop Rock
- Brother Ali
- Sage Francis
- El-P
I actually found that the creativity of those guys and some others is actually more striking than a vast majority of even good black rappers. Much more diverse subject matter and originality. Probably due to the fact that white rappers have to work harder to seem legitimate and get real credibility.
So it probably weeds out the real bad and only the truly creative emerge to anywhere near the top of the ranks. Where as because it's thought of as a black artform, many shitty black rappers get accepted more easily. Ie. black rappers who get automatic acceptance of ghetto stories just because they're black vs. white rappers who get every detail of every element of their life studied lmao.
Not trying to create a racial divide here, I basically only listen to black artists besides Em, just surprised by how many actual good white rappers there were. If you check some of those guy's albums too, some of them have universal acclaim on numerous albums. Gonna be checking everything out by them.
Dose One from anticon.

this rapper dropped over a million views and just released his first song ever within the month

A difficult question. Because there's so few white rappers, the sea of terrible ones that follow clichés and rely on pop appeal seems amplified. Even if they stick to their roots, such as rappers like Yelawolf, it doesn't sound that great overall. Beastie Boys is an instant example for me, but even then, they're rap rock.
Even the white rappers I appreciate (aside from your list), I appreciate to only some extent. Logic has some good songs here and there, and Lil Dicky is a fun novelty, but a full record from both isn't worth hearing. Same could be said for Mac Miller and Paul Wall and whoever that guy from Atmosphere is. It's a shame, because people will go one to praise artists like Logic, Watsky, G-Eazy, Machine Gun Kelly, etc. over some sort of "technical ability", while neglecting that their lyrics are really surface-deep and their production sounds like it was pulled from YouTube type beats.
It's an issue with hip-hop in general that frustrates me with its mainstream regardless of race, but also, I'm on /mu/. It's not like that affects me. It makes up a lot of people's taste, so it's appealing somehow.
SHUT UP
agree
Man the instrumental of this track is lovely, too bad he has to fuck it up while talking.

how do I get into Elton John?
>>74318712
step 1 be a twink
step 2 show up at his house with a condom
step 3 ???
step 4 enjoy sloppy old man hole
>>74318712
Listen to a Greatest Hits record. It's shitty, I know, you want the full cohesion of a standalone album. I get it. I feel your pain.
But Elton John's absolute best tracks are spread across so many albums, you might as well just sample the best shit before you indulge yourself in the mostly-good-but-not-great releases.
>>74318712
Listen to an album or two of his, there's so many catchy melodies you're bound to like at least like one of them
Why don't you play a Fender Stratocaster, do you like the sound of shit?
Because my Jaguar has more switches and knobs on it

I do
Bowie or Iggy mix?
2012 remaster of the Iggy Mix
both
you especially need Search and Destroy from the Bowie mix
Honestly, there's just too much fuzz on the Iggy mix. I know it's not really hip to prefer Bowie's, because it doesn't sound quite as abrasive or whatever, but I think Bowie's gets the point across just fine, and doesn't sound too glammy or anything.
David Bowtie thread faggots. Get in here.
>BOARDS OF CANADA – MUSIC HAS THE RIGHT TO CHILDREN
>The world at large was introduced to Boards of Canada with Music Has the Right to Children, and it remains as fresh-sounding today as it did back in 1998.
>Employing the duo’s hauntology techniques to their fullest, yet most concise extent, Music Has the Right to Children is not only BoC’s best record, but Warp’s best release overall.
Were they right, /mu/?

Hey guys, depression is hitting me really hard, as im realizing that i'm stuck in a shitty college degree i hate, in a foreign 3rd world poor country, speaking a dirty language i cant stand, because i followed here a girl, who i recently discovered that she was cucking me with dozens of men the entire time.
Any music to help me get through this feel and not completely lose control over my life?

Worst. Argentina
Yeezus is liked by the leader of the most influential band of all time (that was initially the most underrated band of all time).
Death Grips is liked by the third the most overrated artist/band of all time.
also it's interesting how Lulu is almost accurately rated among music listeners, but Blackstar, which is just as shit, is possibly the most overrated album of the century.
but he dieed
Your point being?
lou reed is fucking dead
also you fell for the "nobody knew VU" meme
