Why is everyone so defensive of this album/band? Last time I checked these guys were total hypocrites. The first 2 records they did were fun albeit not very technically impressive.
But because they blew up they started taking themselves way too seriously starting with M2M. Total rip off of u2 with nu metal elements.
Thousands Suns was pure pop/electronic shit and same with Living Things and this new record.
Yet they were supposedly "experimental" and were obsessed with calling themselves that. Despite the fucking fact that their music was following in the same boring footsteps of pop mixed with electronic music like everyone else.
Post Metora the old decent song they had wasn't even written by them it was written by Daron from SOAD. Brad Delson is a horrible guitarist. Good riffs but everyone can do riffs because they are so easy. Can't guitar solo to save his life.
Chester's vocals and lyrics were always whiny as fuck. Shinoda sucks at rapping. The bass player and drummer are ok but "Mr Han" is like all other DJ's: a talentless douche who thinks he's a musician because he smashes buttons on a MacBook Pro.
This band was always overrated and for the past 14 years have lived off their first 2 records. They are better than Shitknot but being better at music than juggalo isn't very difficult.

Well i wouldnt say linkin park was a good bad, but its pure nostalgia if you grew up in that era. Back when the powers that be had not decided to scrap rock. The music reminds me of being a kid in the early 2000's before smartphones, before streaming, before texting.
It reminds me of anime music videos, eating hot cheetos and playing warrio 3 which i bought from funco land on my game boy color.
Coming home from school, not doing homework, and watching yu yu haksho on toonamie.
Yu gi oh cards.
Back when feminists had not ruined video games.
Back when you were a kid and life wasnt so serious

Why do metal bands usually have really good instrumentation but all seem to have vocals performed and written by a high schooler? Don't get me wrong, that won't stop me from listening to the music but is there any metal band that pulls off both parts well?
>metal with good vocals and lyrics
Prog?

I was just listening to music around 2008-2010....
Why was mainstream music so much better then than now?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_aC5xPQ2f4
You only say this because it reminds you of a time where you were happier.
>>74358568
It wasn't, you're just nostalgic for the music you heard in your adolescence, same as everybody. That's why each generation complains about the next generation's music.
>>74358579
>When you were happier.
Oh, that's bullshit.
I'm much, much happier now in my late 20's than in my teens.
I have a career, money, etc.
Music was just better, I know I'm not the only one that believes this:

I feel like Sound Of Silver is overrated. It's still pretty damn good, but people hail it as a masterpiece (and I don't really think it is). It's also extremely front loaded.

The Nard Dogg played a guitar
First Dundies episode ended with Tiny Dancer. I think it's the only episode to play music over scenes like that.

>tfw you will never, ever, EVER listen to all the music there is in the world
>tfw you will never know for sure if your favorite album is reall your favorite because there might be one you like more out there
>tfw you will never be able to truly sample everything a genre has to offer
What's the point?
>>74357732
it'd be much worse if you could listen to everything in the world
ive thought of this before desu
it's very likely you will never listen to your favourite album

Isn't that sad? I get that in life sometimes you have to compromise or settle but you'd think at least for music you could find something that truly speaks to you on all levels.
Post your secret special album.
If you dare.
