I'm interested in learning to play the keyboard for example.

You ever really miss the meaning of a song?

I thought Rocket Man was about Elton John getting kicked out by his wife, and being a bachelor alienated by his family (possibly something to do with his sexuality, idk.) . I thought the line about being high was him being off on his own depressed doing drugs in his bachelor pad or something. He still loves his wife, but for whatever reason has to leave...

Apparently the song is just about going to space. Kinda lame, I like my explanation better

Does anyone else ever feel like they're constantly missing out on music? I feel like i'm constantly never into a genre enough or listening to enough bands. Its a blessing and a curse, but we'll never be able to listen to all the good music out there. I'm not sure if this is just what this board has done to me as I never was like this before.

the term dad rock,what's it really besides dads listen to it?
I could see it applied to Led Zeppelin,ACDC or Rolling Stones

but for Yes,King Crimson,Velvet Underground or those bands that weren't readio friendly...could it be applied that easily?

or is it a term to classify famous bands pre 1980s?
