Just write a lot.

How do you get good at soccer? or cooking? or playing piano? You gotta do it a shitload of times, and you'll fail and you'll want to quit, because nothing that's worth it is easy to obtain. You'll make mistakes, but you'll learn from them.

Also, READ A LOT, and when you write just do it, don't think about what you wanna write. WRITE and then think about what did you write.

Just keep doing it and you'll get better before you even realise.

/mu/ Anyone hear actually produce music and not just talk shit about how great your opinion is other someone else?

I've been wanting to try out producing electronic stuff but have no idea where to start, I have a friend who says fruity loops is the way to go but an old tutor says ableton is the only way to go with producing, thoughts?

I don't know what you mean by "Plot" but, according to Residents' lore (And the liner notes) This album was supposed to test a new music theory called "Theory of Obscurity" meaning the music would only be heard once, and only by the musicians who played/recorded the album.

The album was never supposed to see the light of day, nor was it to be heard by anybody including the musicians who recorded it.

However, due to pressure from the record company, the album HAD to be released in order to make a deadline, since the album they were working on at the time wasn't finished yet.

It's a good album but not for beginners.

Yes I think The Smiles Sessions is a better album, but I can't imagine what demons Brian had to fight in order to even contemplate revisiting this album, and putting it out.
