I like it. In fact, I mostly like most rock genres. AC/DC and Aerosmith are great.

WTF I love the Cold War now.
Why were the 80s such a great time for powerful, intimidating political music whereas 2010s' political music is so utterly impotent and moronic despite the general feel of the times being just as bleak as it was in the 80s?
Also, Killing Joke are superb. Listen to this next.
Geordie Walker really is the most underrated guitarist of all time.

Well first of all Hardcore was fresh that decade but it's a bit burnt out these days. Besides Hardcore, the 80's were dark in a 'cold' or 'ominous' way. A lot of this is due to the mechanical nature of 70's avant-garde music. Basically post-punk reconciled punk's political edginess with these more distant sounds, then goth grew out of it as a subculture (inherently increasing the popularity of this kind of music). You should go to your local goth club and rally some guys up if you want to see another Killing Joke.
You people don't know shit about punk rock
Punk is shit

There isnt really much of a presence of punk music on /mu/ outside of Pitchfork approved albums like Double Nickels and Zen Arcade (which are fantastic of course, just not the be all and end all). Certainly no presence of current punk and hardcore scenes.
>>74289701
well thank god, punk is garbage
post punk and disco were the superior genres.

Great band. Crowned Purple Gowns is one of my most treasured tapes. Glad Spencer's still making heavy psyche exotica.
Does /mu/ like D-Block/The Lox/Jadakiss/Styles P/Sheek? Favorite songs?
I've been listining these guys ever since i was 10, still my favorite thing in rap ever, but would really like to find some new shit because i've been hearing the same music for 14 years now.
no? okay.
What is the very first song you remembered & still got it stuck in your head.
Despite hating pop music, this shit back in the 2000s is a complete metaphor to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPwtJ89jes4
First thing to come to mind was Better Off Alone by Alice Deejay:

I think I was about 8 years old when it came out as well. That melody is such a fucking jam, and those simple repeated lyrics are so iconic in my mind.
"Music Sounds Better with You" by Stardust (Thomas Bangalter and two other dudes before Daft Punk) also came out around the same time period with a similar use of minimal lyrics and is also pretty damn catchy.
