Donald Trump used to be referenced all the time in rap music. I find it funny, as his name has entirely new connotations now. Catalog those mentions here.
Skypager - A Tribe Called Quest
https://youtu.be/mWiKlij_D90?t=34s
Beeper's going off like Don Trump gets checks
So Appalled - Kanye West
https://youtu.be/_T7f3D7i5_A?t=20s
I'm so appalled, Spalding ball
Balding Donald Trump taking dollars from y'all
Ice Cream - Lil Wayne

I was in the trenches
Now I'm in the Trump
And everybody watch your back
When you're in the front
Rae Sremmurd too
To be fair that Kanye lyric is kind of dissing Trump. Most rap I know celebrates him usually because of his wealth and success. I think black people like trump secretly.
Raekwon - Incarcerated Scarfaces

Rae's a heavy generator
But yo, guess who's the black Trump
ODB - Protect Ya Neck II the Zoo

Given the power punch
Soon to be paid like Donald Trump

He falls in to the same category as Bill Gates. His name means moneys. Or at least it did, now it means lots of different things to different people. To me, thats the joke.
You're right though, the Kanye lyric is out of place.
Is there anything more refreshing than a well-written pop song?
I think not.

oh and maybe a pop song with actual dynamic contrast

Hmm I guess you're right there my friend. I guess you're right there.

this album always felt really, really schizophrenic to me
DON'T IT FEEL GOOD TO DRIVE A BUS?
PEOPLE NEED TO GET PICKED UP
what did he mean by this?
SAY HEY KID SAY HEY KID
SAY HEY KID HEY KID
COME PLAY DEAD
>>74418911
People need to get picked up you know. It's true.
I think the song above all is about race though and how you can be funneled into a certain position in society due to race or social standing. But in the end the voice of the lyrics is optimistic about certain social positions that are forced on others, like a black bus driver who is actually providing a valuable service.

Hi /mu/.
TLDR: What music can we play live without a vocal and a drummer?
I give up /mu/. There's not a single person in my city that is able to sing the required note. They can't intonate for shit, causing the guitars and the bass, to sound like ass. They can't grasp the concept of singing in tune with the band.
The drummers are ok, but there are practically none available, and those that are, get too lazy to move their equipment.
So, right now, we have a decent keyboard player, bass and a 2 guitars (perhaps, rhythm and lead?).
So, the question is, is there any genre available that can sound good with those 4 instruments?
We are open to learn almost any genre possible.
use backing tracks for drums and backing vocals
also musicians are available in every city, it's just that most won't do it for free unless they're good friends of yours already
you can play any genre with the use of backing tracks
ambient
> What music can we play live without a vocal and a drummer?
Really?
Jesus fuck, with that lack of creativity having or not a singer is the least of your problems.
Favorite Chuggo track?
I'LL PUT A SIGN ON YOUR BACK THAT SAYS I CAN'T RAP
AND A BRUISE ON YOUR FACE THAT SAYS I CAN'T SCRAP
Is Turbonegro a good band?

This is the pop album of the 2010s
>synth pad playing suspended chords and major chords
>electric guitar getting in tune and general feedback and whammying
>bass guitar starts playing
>guitar starts playing power chords quiet and slow
>bass does the same
>hihat, kick and snare beat starts in 6/8
>bass and guitar join the drumset
>synth switches up chords
>guitar speeds up
>snare drum fill
>crash cymbal
>guitar plays a solo from the low end to the high end getting faster and faster
>drummer is riding the crash but stil playing a 6/8 beat
>guitar is slows down and gets quiter again and bleeds into the synth pad

Caspian are legit one of the only post-rock bands that've remained interesting for the last 10+ year. Not sure which of your girlfriends they've fucked or what you guys are on about, but okay.
What does /mu/ think of Stone Temple Pilots?
Core and Purple are great, but I'm not much of a fan of anything else.
My brother was a big STP fan, so i know when weiliend was alive hipsters fucking hated him and stp because he was too much of a real rock star when rock music has already been infected by gay nerds.
You could tell near the end he was a complete burn out going through the motions, dead behind the eyes.
When he was young it was sort of like someone fused jim morrison with bowie.
I like some of his solo work as well
