Im going to see Yes in concert soon. Anyone know if they are good live? What albums do they play? also General /yes/ thread:
>>74440680
On their current Yestival tour, they're playing one song each from their first ten albums in order, from Yes to Drama. They're kinda cheating on this one because they're not really playing any full songs from Tales or Relayer, instead playing sections of them (Leaves of Green from The Ancient, Soon from The Gates of Delirium).
The drummer, Alan White, has been known to have problems since his back surgery, which has affected the band's tempo during the recent live performances. Over the past couple years, he had to be replaced by Jay Schellen before eventually being able to come back to live shows for a share of the setlist.
Now we have Alan White and Steve Howe's son, Dylan Howe, both on drums.

They're so fucking good, dude. You're going to have a great time. Steve Howe is such a sweetheart and a funny character. One of the best shows I've ever been to.
When I saw them they played all of Drama, half of Tales, and a few songs off of Fragile

I saw them a few years ago, they played all of Close to the Edge, Going for the One, and the Yes Album before closing with Roundabout.
I even had VIP passes so I could get an album signed and have my pic taken with them.
They're great.
What /mu/ thinks of Hayley Richman?

>very limited amount of improvisation with non-existent amounts of melodic/harmonic development to make up for it
>simplified grooves that take away any of the more subtle/dynamic aspects of jazz drumming (even though many examples in jazz show you can have both)
>large arrangement that weaves in/out sounds like a first year music school kiddie
>a "variety" of different parts that play at the same time too close together instead of being more syncopated, thus not being taken full advantage of to create groovy rhythms nor actual depth/complexity
So why does everyone praise The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady so much?
What are some other psychedelic albums that are extremely easy to digest?

All of Tame Impala really. Pond's discography as well, especially Beards, Wives and Denim or Hobo Rocket.
Does /mu/ into punk?
>no replacements
why doesn't mu like sorry ma?
>>74440120
Sorry Ma is a wonderful album. This is just a "starter set." desu I felt like including the Replacements and Husker Du might be overdoing it, plus that album is so garage-y and Stones-influenced that I wasn't totally sure it was the best representation of punk
I feel that crust, powerviolence, and grindcore really perfected the genre thus see no reason to listen to earlier stuff anymore.
You said it, Frank, I didn't.
le ersatz shit man
Anyone have favourite Jim O'Rourke albums aside from the Drag City albums?
His album "Hagyou" with Akira Sakata and Yoshimio is really great, would def recommend

A family member thinks they're a rapper and won't shup up about weird conspiracy theories. I have no clue what they're on about, but it's pretty damn entertaining. Their whole channel is gold.
