>nto being a turnydrone
There are some great records there (particularly in the upper half) but the rest are dull dadbleeps and dadsoul.

Really makes you think
Why the hell did they include "Money" on this album? It sounds way out of place and all it does is break the album's flow.
Oh my god I agree I've been saying this forever
such a shallow ill fitting track
because there's a song called Time as well
>>74561112
I was thinking about this not long ago.
Money is the only weak point of this album.
Decent production, but the bass line feels meme-y and obnoxious compared to their usual subtle brilliance.
What are some musicians you look up to? Pic related for me

and i prefer his new stuff to the old. definitely changed the music industry. gotta respect that.

There are no record stores where I'm from, and if there were, you probably couldn't find someone into music beyond an entry-level indie rock point.
Sadly, /mu/ doesn't hold a lot of intriguing discussion, so I just swing by with hope of seeing an interesting thread
Did PiL invent death metal vocals?

Good thread OP.
>>74560862
/daily/, the chart and collage threads, and the genre generals are all great places for recs or just finding new shit in general.
Why was this so underrated
>>74560800
But it wasn't
A couple really good songs and a bunch of solid filler
it just highlights how rappers are not good songwriters at all.

post albums similar to piper. i've yet to hear an album as free and fun as piper. i don't want shit like the seeds or the yardbirds, i want some crazy jams. you can also just bump with some psychedelic albums from any decade that are worth a listen even if it's not like pic related

Listen to Morgan Delt's debut album
I just listened to this album for the first time twice back to back. It was my first time listening to any of Phil's work. I haven't seen it on /mu/ in a while so I assume its not too redundant to make a thread about it, but holy fuck I just need to talk about it. I've pondered death for many years but have never experienced a really significant loss in my life except for the passing of my grandfather almost 3 years ago, and this album really just put me right back where I was then and there. I think its extraordinary that Phil was able to so richly depict his emotions and trauma, and I've never had such a cathartic experience with music as I did with this record.
What are your guys' thoughts?
not as good as carrie and lowel
>>74560598
Fuck off, that's not why I made this thread.
>>74560556
Never heard anything like it. It's not even an album really. Took me two sittings to listen to it, sobbed the whole time. The music was just an afterthought, it's basically just half an hour of you listening to a guy tell you intimate details of his wife's death.
Great release, I wouldn't necessarily listen to it a lot but it's an amazing record.
who's your music waifu /mu/?

What are your thoughts on The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me?
[spoiler]Just listened for the first time today
Switch around Archers and Untitled and it's a 10
Archers is the best somg.
6/10
Can you make actual art music without being involved in the art scene/going to college or are you doomed to make minor variations of the current pop scene/crass intimations of actual art?
i don't understand what you mean.
art-pop and art-rock are kinda just terms used to categorize music that goes beyond the genre's conventional tropes. though with how conventional modern pop/rock have gotten, anyone that's a new artist with an experimental approach to them could be labeled art-pop/rock nowadays.
only if you're in it 100% for yourself and for your work. i know a ton of boring faggots that blame the music industry but all they fucking do is pop rock and pop punk. make something that you want to make while simultaneously pushing the boundaries

>Can you make actual art music without being involved in the art scene
i mean if you're into actual artistic expression you're going to get involved in an art scene of some kind. birds of a feather and all.
Anyone else obsessed with Scott Walker? He has to be the most underrated musical genius of all time.
he's hardly underrated, anon. really good though.
>>74560324
i seriously never hear him mentioned anywhere, hardly even on /mu/. Never seen him on any list of influential musicians. Honestly I probably would have never heard of him if not for a random google search
>>74560317
Still haven't listened, actually. Where would you recommend I start? I know his recent albums are much more... Difficult than his earlier works.
David Bowie was the greatest human to have ever lived.
