What's up /mu/
Ride is playing near me and I'm considering going to the show, has anybody seen them live? Would you reccomend?
Also general live bands thread, what are some of the best shows any of you guys have seen?

No joke, Lady Gaga puts on one of the best shows around. It's a legitimate spectacle. It does cast a lot, especially for GA, but for the amount of money you'll spend, it's very much worth it. Plus, you'll get to dance with loads of hot chicks or gay dudes if you're into them.

Fun Fact: Did you know Paul McCartney is on the song Vegetables?
He's munching on a carrot.

I love how so many of the songs on disc 1 segway into one another, and disc 2 being so mellow is a great change of pace.

She was mean to Nardwuar. Says a lot about her character
>>74520594
i saw everyone got triggered over sonic youth giving joke answers to nardwuar but i can't help but feel he deserved it because of how shitty his questions are. i'm sure lydia lunch has no patience cause she's an artsy bitch but nardwuar should stop being so fucking annoying and ask real questions. lou reed would've torn him apart

Zappa Plays Zappa? More like "Unoriginal son plays untalented fathers music"
Fuck all you Zappa haters!
What have YOU done that was so prolific?
Who made a documentary about any of YOU?
That's what I thought, LOSERS!
John Mayer has really come into his own, man.
He's really bad. Has absolutely nothing interesting to say about anything. He somehow wrote daughters tho
I'm not a super big fan of his lyrics, but can he play guitar.
His songwriting and tone are pretty distinctive, and being able to listen to him + Pino Palladino is just an absolute treat. I didn't like him at first, but I gradually warmed up to his stuff.
>Not having Dead & Company as a staple
It's honestly refreshing /mu/.
General to discuss the genre of progressive rock, including its sub-genres or any associated genres which may fit the criteria of "prog". Discuss prog rock bands, share works of prog, or (best of all) argue over whether band "X" is truly progressive or not.
>What is progressive rock?!
"Progressive rock (shortened as prog; sometimes called art rock, classical rock or symphonic rock) is a broad subgenre of rock music that developed in the United Kingdom and United States throughout the mid to late 1960s. Initially termed "progressive pop", the style was an outgrowth of psychedelic bands who abandoned standard pop traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques more frequently associated with jazz, folk or classical music. Additional elements contributed to its "progressive" label: lyrics were more poetic, technology was harnessed for new sounds, music approached the condition of "art", and the studio, rather than the stage, became the focus of musical activity, which often involved creating music for listening, not dancing."

SUNDAY REVIEW RUNDOWN
Fiona Apple - Tidal (9.0)
By Jenn Pelly
>Using the poetry and jazz that formed her, Fiona Apple grapples eloquently with isolation, retribution, and the oceanic ups and downs of being young and being a woman. Rare is a debut so fully formed.
Best music for when you're on ambien and when you find your girlfriend of three years is really bad whore.
Do a higher dose and then listen to it.
