Have any other great doom albums come out this year besides picrelated?
I really liked the work he did with Madlib
i actually like it
Pros: catchy songs, good songwriting, great production (As always)
Cons: no depth musically compared to H.C.E or Insurgentes, too gimmicky at times (recurring problem with Steven Wilson)
Noughties pop punk bands aged weird. How have Blink aged the most gracefully when they got their asses handed to them across America every night of the Pop Disaster Tour. How did Sum 41 put out a better record last year than Green Day did.
blink would be GOAT pop punk band if they hadn't return after self titled.
I like pop punk but I really didn't like Enema of the State at all.

i honestly miss their earnestness
Regardless of how ridiculously they presented them, their emotions were real.
Most underrated tracks in my opinion:
1. Absolute Beginners
2. Miracle Goodnight
3. Never Let Me Down
4. Looking For Satellites
5. Where Are We Now?

Everyone keeps saying this but he's hanging in there man.
God only knows why.....
What's /mu/'s thoughts.
Personally just got to put this one on, and I've gotten a good bit of chills from the first album so far.

The first two albums are excellent. I really liked the transition from traditional instruments to electronic with the increasing industrialization in the story during Act 2, it was pretty genius.
Can't say I liked them when I gave them a shot but it's more because of the gaming culture that treated it like it was "their music" than their attempt at making some Jim Steinman program music/concept albums. A for effort though.

tremendous album

I thought he undercooked it a little
I love everything else Ernest has done though, the man just needs to focus on writing pop songs again, because he's really good at it

This is the first actual heavy emtal song, Plastic Thunder, released by Bitter Creek in 1968.

Firstly this just sounds like a pretty bog standard acid rock song from the 60s.
Secondly even if some obscure band invented metal before Sabbath it wouldn't matter because Sabbath had far more influence on music.
>>74593103
This is heavier than the average acid rock from the 60's. If Sabbath's first album can be thought of metal, so can this song because they are very similar.
>>74593068
Sabbath is considered the creators of metal because they down-tuned. Bitter Creek did not.
/mu/ why are these guys the best rock band to ever exists? Once you listen to everything they came out with, then listen to other artist and then listen to them again. You notice that the Beatles have a certain charm to them that no other band has been able to produce
>>74592953
Because of Paul McCartney.
