What does /mu/ think about drugs and their status in popular culture? Music cultures especially tend to glorify drugs (rave/club culture and grunge/alternative heroin/weed chic) and the attitude toward drugs in these scenes seem to be that you're a pussy or uncool if you don't just 'do it' and 'have fun'.
Just have fun bro? Just take the e bro and have fun? Drugs are seen to complete social experiences, hence they are dominant in these scenes as markings of cool
Are these values right? Do you agree with them?
it's not about being cool
majority of drugs enhance or change your perception of music.
either making something that sounds old new or the ability to find new nuanced sounds you weren't receptive to before.
Heroin needs to make a come back. Die for your art
"The road of excess leads to the path of wisdom" - Jim Morrison
I used to think this was a great philosophy until i lost 10 years of my life due to drug abuse trying to 'enhance' my art with chemicals. Little did i know, everything i ever needed i already had. Look within..
Is any music "legend" a bigger meme?
He's unquestionably a musical prodigy in terms of raw playing talent, but that doesn't translate at all into actual songwriting ability.
His most iconic songs are novelty songs, for christ's sake.
If you never heard another Prince song in your life, would you really care?
He was a pretty good songwriter. I'm sorry you have pleb taste and probably consider Kanye the epitome of music.

Kanye is most overrated musician of our generation. I didn't include him as a meme "legend" because no one in their right mind actually considers him a legend.
>>75103289
Also, plebs and normies fucking love Prince
What the fuck is his problem?
Drugs
>>75126678
Honestly this, he probably did way too much acid in his youth
>>75126657
>his
>I SAW THE CRESCENT
>YOU SAW THE WHOLE OF THE MOON
I don't get it
What type of person do I have to be to enjoy this album?
>>75126500
The kind of person that studies art history at university and think's they're cultured because they ate Caribbean food once.
Good album though.

My working class family enjoy this album
you need to be a 20 yr old virgin that is failing uni for the second time after realizing that his crippling autism is never going to get solved by smoking weeds or other drugs, thus he will come to the realization tha hes going to live alone forever and must accept it, but now has to make up a way to live but has lost all motivation to study or work and just wants to be in his house to sleep and play competitive videogames that give him the only strong enough emotions that make him feel alive, even when he knows its a complete waste of time
bonus if you are a sexual deviant that society doesnt support (aka not a faggot)
Outro by Godspeed is one of my favorite songs on the album Song of the Silent Land

dalek isn't one of the main /mu/core bands but it's on the chart and Untitled is an absolute masterpiece that I've only seen mentioned a handful of times. imo it's their best album

what are some bands/artists that transitioned successfully to different genres?
beck, david bowie, the beatles.
Ulver
cocteau twins
Bruising gimmicks with the broom he usually use for Quidditch
Gooey writtens, scoot 'em to a ditch, chewed and booty scented
Too pretentious, do pretend like he could lose with spitting
Steaming tubes of poop and twisted doobies full of euphemisms

Poop filled ass fire crack it's the slap list
Backfist lay ya ho whole team on a mattress
roman candle doobie backflips pack twist
shoelifts pussycat to catatonic catnip
You start OP
Some hate the image that I must portray
Critics say, "Go to Hell", I go, "Yeah
Stupid motherfucker I’m already here"
Frustrated, mentally aggravated
To be the rebel that society created
I’m good most times but when I’m foul then I’m flagrant
Living in the shadows like a government agent
I'm NOT talking about you crying from songs because they're so horrible. I AM talking about songs where the lyrical content or the instrumental touches you like an average uncle and makes you cry. I'll start. I shed tears.
Whoever posts Death Grips or that one Immortal Technique song will die a bloody death.

I know some songs from this album but never heard it in its entirety. I know this song. The theme is dramatic but why does it bring you to tears?
Is this the most iconic music picture of our generation?
I mean, think about it for a second.
No. I'd rather see his ass knocked out like a baby in front of hundred of people at a show.

Niggers can't even appropriate white emo bitch culture correctly.
What does that tell you?
No it's probably this
So I have an assignment in my class to choose a song that talks about like society or of social struggle and I can't find a song I listen to punk and folk punk but I don't know any good ones
