On the whole SRW: Suffering and Salvation from last thread, I think taking cues from the Butterfly Effect film is a better choice since it shows that by trying to save the lives of one person they wind up ruining another and the ending is that they set things back to status quo due to how by helping everyone else, they awoken his alter ego who thinks tampering with everyone else's timeline is going to doom all of the original cast.

Technically there was OG1 and OG2. But, yeah, outside of that all SRWs released for Nintendo console or portables after the SNES were standalone games. It is kind of odd in the case of the portable, since they got multiple games, often with many reused assets, but they didn't bother actually making them a continuous story.

There are no special reality-warping gimmicks gimmicks other than the KOG, but that has more to do with it being piloted by god rather than the machine itself.

It's just different from Z where he was good buddies with almost all the cast prior to the Destiny Plan thing and that was very brief.

Shinn has different characterizations in the various SRW universes depending on whether the narrative was on his side for the Destiny events, which is unusual for most other characters who are typically always the same.

Forget Destiny as is, most games just have series over, Kira Athrun Shinn Luna only. I know Destiny sucks but it was actually one of the best portrayals in Z and there's lots of potential they aren't using because I guess they're afraid of pissing off Shinn or Kira fanboys by regulating one to the bad guy for most of the game.
