/mlp/ is a blue board so porn is not allowed there, ponyshit is also banned on every board except for this one and /mlp/. As is to be expected our equine allies are rather excited that they finally have a place to openly jack off with friends. The amount of porn threads will most likely decrease as the board ages and generals will inevitably crop up, simply hide those if you don't care for them. At least horsefuckers usually hate furfag tier shit, and I commend them for that.

It won't hurt if we establish some standard way to "tag" threads. There are inevitably going to be threads which have little to do with politics like porn threads. Maybe include "-mlp-" in pure pony thread titles, and maybe something similar for pure pol threads, so that people can easily filter it. There needs to be some sort of balance. Otherwise you'll end up with a /v/ and /vg/ situation. There's a difference between eternal meta threads (eg. dazzling general #5934905) and general DISCUSSION threads (eg. /Eirepol/, /canpol/, etc.). Those will rarely last more than 2 in a row and pop up when needed. A blanket ban on generals would stop these important threads from happening.

Even in the early days when a new person stopped by it was a lot of fun when they would watch the show and tell us what they thought as they were going through it. I believe that as a guideline (not a rule to be hard-enforced by mods) that pony porn should be kept to porn threads and shill threads, and porn threads should try to contain themselves.
Porn is a good deterrent from shills and redditors and if we set hard rules about where porn CAN'T be posted, it might give them the belief that there are safe zones, and we don't want that. I think being courteous to others and having restraint from posting a lot of porn in good threads.

I think it's fine to have pure /pol/ threads and pure /mlp/ threads on the board instead of trying to restrict either. Anyone who's still browsing /mlpol/ after the two boards have separated and this became hidden should have no issue coexisting with the topic they aren't here for, because if they weren't, they would have left at 3AM.

Polite sage should be liberally applied I think removing visible sage hurt the quality of the site, even though "sage as a downvote" was a problem it now seems like a lot of newfags don't even know sage exists and people need to be able to stop themselves from bumping shill threads.

General threads are fucking terrible, but reading the thread everyone seems to already agree. Other than happening threads or election threads, we should keep general threads out. /ptg/ was fine up to the election, and maybe for a couple weeks after, but I don't think it has a place now. >>182995 has the right idea but >>182688 is a good counterpoint.


tl;dr Don't ban porn but pornposters should be courteous about where they post it, MLP and politics can certainly coexist and should, ignore shill threads, fuck generals

Well when a janitor sends a ban request the anon they're sending it to gets muted for 15 minutes.
