haven't watched the show in a long time, but it does feel strange how everybody treats it like some top-tier high budget anime.

People aren't comparing it to anime, they're comparing it to the quality we had in 2010-2012, and it's much worse than it has been. If the show was once good how is it unreasonable to expect it to be as good as it used to be?
