Some probably do. But it's probably because they have love to feel, but no suitable recipient IRL.
(Just as other feelings we have will get recipients. For hate/bullying/scorn/trust/loyalty etc no matter if it's earned or not.)

Humans can love anything. The hormones and their effect usually last 6 months to 2 years, sometimes longer if proper feedback is given.

Check Wikipedia Tamagotchi - a 90s toy. Some people (in Japan) was so in love with their beeping device that its death required the usual stuff to deal with. (Graveyard, ceremony, mourning, memorial etc)
