I haven't been whining in the thread about not getting a card or package yet, but I have to say I'm pretty let down. The fun of Christmas cards is that you can put them up as decorations around the house. By the time I get a card, if I get one, the season will have passed and into storage it will go. Kinda defeats the point. Same with presents: we put them under the tree so we can build up our tantric anticipation by looking at them for weeks, leading to a giftgasm on Christmas.

It's really not that bad, I've had it happen once before, it took me a long ass time to get that package but I eventually got it. At my complex they hold onto all packages and only give them to you if you tell them your apartment number, or when they just put it at your doorstop about a week after the package arrives.
I'll just ask for them to look for my name instead but they aren't the most motivated bunch of workers there, they might tell me to fuck off. I just hope you didn't cover it in autism.

To call it a game is probably an overstatement. It's built in unity, but basically all it is is it just takes the video from the webcam, tracks a marker icon, and displays a model on top of the icon, so as you rotate the actual piece of paper with the icon on it, the virtual pony rotates as well.

At some point, I want to do something like that with animations, but muh finals.

i have an oculus rift that I duct taped two webcams, a leap motion, and two 4 inch Google eyes onto. It is literally the most ghetto shit, but I can track my hands and blow up models in space. They don't work perfectly, but it's good enough to prove the concept.

thats the idea. I just play each of the webcams over each eye respectively to generate the stereoscopics. One issue I quickly ran into is that you have to manually focus your eyes (think about how you look at close and far things; your eyes move inward). I currently got an arduino rigged with two Chinese stepper motors and an ultrasonic rangefinder that autofocuses, but that whole setup makes me look like a fucking slug.

It works, but it's far from pretty.

The extent I have is looking through cameras at the AR tag, which is strapped to a wrist band. When I look at it blows up a massive virtual clock, date, and I'm working on implementing an RSS feed of /mlp/ but it's fighting me.

Since everything I do is in unity, I need to either code everything myself, or get packages. The thing is that I'm trying to use a game engine as a tool, not a game engine. RSS feed passing is tough, and some of the prebuilt ones like https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com [slash] en/#!/content/2232 are pretty sketchy looking.
