I've been practice drawing for the cards and I think they've come out pretty decently. Which is weird because I stopped drawing after Freshmen year of high school. And even then, I wasn't that good. I guess all the art I've seen has sort of helped and influenced me.

If you're in the US, that should be fine. My post office delivers mail to my house regardless of whose name is on it. I've gotten mail from at least 5 different former residents and once had a package delivered with a full blown fandom name as the recipient. No issues with delivery.

If your assigned giftee lives in an apartment, the post may be more finnicky, since they check that the name on a letter matches the name printed on the mail box. Assuming the name is accurate, just shortened, even that shouldn't be an issue.
