Starlight has an incredibly important position in the world, as the PRINCESS OF FRIENDSHIP'S star protege, lives in a castle, and is being groomed for greatness, having already reformed an entire race of shapeshifting succubi and saved equestria once.
Additionally, She has actual emotion baggage and problems to deal with, having a dark and troubled past, negative emotions to tame, and social relationships to mend (Starburst, the entire town, ect.). Not to mention the incredible amount of potential that starburst himself brings to the table for starlight by tying her directly to raising an alicorn princess.
The other 5 can't even compete; What's Applejack got? Shit, she lives on a farm and eats apples. Nothing but that. No potential. And no emotional issues to grow with.
Fluttershy? Lives in a fucking cottage and doesn't have anything to do in life. Starlight could be a princess for gods sake, and we're comparing someone who's never going to do anything with her life.
Pinkie? LOL.
Not to mention when it comes to adventures, the other 5 are beyond pointless, while that's right down starlight's lane! She's an incredibly powerful prodigy who loves to fight evil, and has the actual ABILITY to do it! She runs into a An evil demon or monster? Magic that fucker. Pinkie runs into it? what's she going to do, throw fucking cupcakes at it? AJ? Kick it? Lol.
Good god, the only person in this show who has potential anymore is starlight and twilight; the others are filler tier at best.

There are the well-known groups of friends in Ponyville, but everyone can get usually get along and in spite of the focused spotlights, ponies have their own daily adventures. Sometimes Rainbow Dash might just hang out with some of her weather cohorts. Rarity's been in at least one sewing group, and possibly others, and she's not likely to meet up with her usual gang there. Fluttershy might now, who knows, but she's also possibly on good terms with the town vet(s). Just socialization all around and getting to know ponies!
