This episode really reminded me of Season 1.
It was well-paced, had Twilight & Spike running all over the place to solve problems despite Flurry being stuck in there, and it had a pretty good moral/lesson at the end. Almost like a friendship letter.
This is a good episode, I like this episode.
BUT, does /mlp/ agree?

This. I enjoyed it, it's nice to see him being a great support again and having a moment of his own in the end. I would even say that Twilight herself was written without exaggeration, making her and Spike work together in a sensible way.

I think MLP has been so connected to it's style, to give it a new one would make it feel like a new show. In a market of weird and wacky animation styles, MLP has always had a down to earth vibe, or at least use to. Though that style is nice, it just is not MLP.
