Summary:
You were Mango, a Batpony from a small town near Las Pegasus turned vampire by Fierce Fang. After deciding against joining the older and obviously amoral vampire Mango fled both him and a bounty in Las Pegasus caused by her feeding habits. She's on her way to Ponyville, where there are supposedly no Vampires to compete with.
But after divulging her Vampire status to Zecora, the Zebra snitched to Twilight who confronted Mango in the Castle of the Two Sisters.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Mango seems to be tentatively going along with Twilight's plan to send her to infiltrate a group of vampires in Canterlot.
They fought an out of control suit of armor together, which Twilight took upstairs for further study.
Mango spoke with Rarity about securing some things to make her room more livable, and our story proceeds from there.

For all her social charm and friendliness, Pinkie Pie seems to falter a bit with the authoritative managerial types. Whether it's musical agents , grumpy griffons or yak emissaries, it's hard to fulfill the capricious whims of individuals that seem determined to remain unsatisfied. At some point, she's either got to take charge herself if she can or count on a friendly assist if she doesn't want to walk away. It's just that she's got so many plans and ideas and emergency stashes that she doesn't want to avoid trying them all first!
It's always good practiceand good information for her party files.

How frequently does the average Equestrian citizen see an important personage? It probably depends at least somewhat on location, but even constantly feuding ponies living off the beaten path are only slightly behind in royal news. It seems most ponies have seen Celestia in person at some point, even if only from a distance at a Summer Sun Celebration - though she seems to make the rounds to the various cities and towns and is acquainted with local leaders, so there's more opportunities beyond the biggest holidays. The Wonderbolts are pretty active across the country, too. Who knows what the performance touring scene is like? Well, some ponies do, and there are publications that circulate as well. It just might be hard to say without some kind of survey - Ponyville seems to get a lot of through traffic, but for everything else, it's a fairly centrally located town on the rail system, close to Canterlot and hosting its own princess. The data might be a little disproportionate compared to, say, Mustangia.
