My friend is tight with Mike Vogel so we got an early screening.

I'd give it a solid 8 or 8.5/10. I won't give out massive spoilers but remember that look-and-see book that was leaked a few weeks ago? The movie follows that but in a much different sense. Borrows a bit from season openers and finales but also has enough that's unconventional for MLP to feel like a legit movie. Animation is fantastic and so are the songs. Is pretty fast paced and action-oriented but there are surprisingly emotional moments.

Was Triple Threat really a Spike episode? I mean, Spike didn't solve the friendship problem in the episode. Thorax and Ember did. Was it really a Spike episode?

Unpopular Opinion Thread?

There aren't any good episodes from season 1, only a few above average ones with an abundance of average and forgettable episodes and for that reason, season 1 is the worst season in the show by far.

Glimmer is the best addition to the show since the writers gave the CMC their cutie marks in helping people. Her episodes are consistently good while the mane 6 get boring or dull episodes. Twilight Sparkle is a mary sue, Glimmer is what happens when you take Twilight and make her an interesting character.

Episodes that don't heavily involve at least one of the following characters are very likely to be forgettable or garbage: Glimmer, Discord, Spike, any of the three CMC, Big Mac, Maud, Trixie, Thorax. The only exception to this rule is when an interesting one off character makes an appearance like Cheese Sandwich or Quibble.
